Positive: We truly loved our stay at the Mountain Nest! The views were absolutely breathtaking, and the peaceful, secluded setting made for an unforgettable experience. While the owners were out of town during our visit, Carlos stepped in and did an outstanding job taking care of everything in their absence. Both Carlos and the owners maintained excellent communication, ensuring all our needs were met promptly. A special highlight was the delicious meals prepared daily by Chona, Carlos’s wife. Both breakfast and dinner were home-cooked and absolutely delightful—a real treat that made our stay even more special. Getting to the cabin is an adventure in itself, but well worth it! Nestled in a charming indigenous village surrounded by the woods, the location offers a unique cultural experience. Watching the locals walk by to their homes added an authentic touch to our stay. If you’re looking for stunning views, warm hospitality, and a one-of-a-kind cultural experience, we highly recommend Mountain Nest. It’s a true hidden gem!
Negative: This is my second visit to Lanquín, and rain is quite common here. Be sure to come prepared with the right gear, such as sturdy, waterproof shoes and a rain jacket, as you’ll likely need to navigate some muddy paths to reach the cabin. A little preparation goes a long way in making your stay more enjoyable :)
Summary: Great!

Positive: Mountain nest was a wonderful stay! It’s a little off the beaten track! It does require a walk down a path to get to the cabin, but once you get there the view is breathtaking. The cabin is very well equipped and has some beers/wine that you can purchase. We also bought some small snacks from the neighbours shop, however if you want something more would advise bringing with you! We loved the ethos of the cabin and really enjoyed reading about it in the books provided. It feels close to nature and involved in the local community which we loved. Remi was an incredible host, and helped us out multiple times with travel and organisation!! Carlos was also lovely! And made our stay very enjoyable!
Summary: A hidden gem of a mountain retreat! Blissful and close to nature

Positive: Darina and Rémi are fantastic hosts. They assisted us with great care from the moment we booked till our departure. They also prepare amazing food. Finally, location is breathtaking. Will definitely visit them again!

Positive: Serene, the views are astounding. You have the jungle hilltop all to yourself.
Negative: It’s quite a journey but still so worth it. Make sure to bring CASH! Cash is king and you’ll need more than you think. I do think Remy and Darina should mention that their Family Dinner Meal is 100Q PER PERSON. It’s just better when calculating costs. Also, NEVER leave food out, otherwise the critters will come to play. However, great to unwind and enjoy the views and great homemade food that Remy and Darina make.
Summary: Wow! Incredible place. Super bumpy and quite the journey to get to (Denis, you’re the best driver ever!), but once there
