This beautifully updated early 1900's workers cottage has been sympathetically restored and styled to combine it's charming heritage features with today's modern comforts. The Mulberry Cottage is versatile in its appeal and is as equally suited for a couples romantic getaway as it is for a girls get-together, a family of four, or a solo retreat.
Mulberry Cottage is located just 15 minutes from Cañon City in the town of Florence - considered the 'Antique Capital of Colorado'. You can experience Florence's small town feel with a walk of just a few short blocks to Main Street. Here you'll find The Pour House coffee shop, Aspen Leaf bakery, Two Scoops ice-cream parlor, Florence Brewing Company, and a variety of restaurants. Stop along the way to browse the many antique stores and unique shops that this former historic mining town has to offer. During summer months you can cool off in our hometown outdoor pool, visit the Farmers' Market (held every Thursday), or indulge at one of the area's wineries or cideries.
Being centrally located in the Royal Gorge Region makes The Mulberry Cottage a marvelous home base for enjoying activities such as; world class white water rafting, mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing, ziplining, Jeep tours, and Gold Medal fishing (to name a few!). The world-famous Royal Gorge Bridge and Park, scenic Royal Gorge Route Railroad and seasonal Santa Train are located in the neighboring town of Cañon City. Slightly further afield are the Great Sand Dunes National Park, Bishop's Castle, Westcliffe, Cripple Creek's casinos and the historic Mollie Kathleen Mine.
After a day of exploring the area, retreat to the cottage and gather around the welcoming fireplace with a glass of wine to catch up on your day's adventures. The window seat next to the fireplace is the perfect spot to cozy up and enjoy a good read, or stretch out and take a nap on the extra long sofa. Summary: This cozy cottage was the perfect location for our adventures in the Royal Gorge area. We had 2 adults and one teen in our group. The cottage was just as pictured in the listing with a clean and tidy outdoor area, a beautifully updated kitchen and awesome shower. Although we didn’t spend much time in Florence, the town was lively and there was a small public pool nearby as well as a sand volleyball court. It’s a very short drive to Cañon City and Royal Gorge rafting, bridge and train. We were expecting an outdoor barbecue grill but made due with the indoor stovetop. The kitchen was well-stocked with dishes and supplies needed to make meals. A special bonus was the Nespresso machine!! We would love to return in the winter to enjoy some of the other features like the fireplace, heated floors and cozy blankets but it was too hot this summer. If you’re looking for a lovely little cozy cottage, book this place today. You won’t regret it!!

Summary: If you are visiting Florence or Cañon City, this is the place to stay. Had everything you need for a comfortable stay. Everything updated and very cozy. It was nice having a private room for the adults and the kids in a separate room. Emma was super helpful and a good communicator

Summary: I have never stayed in a place where the attention to detail and the cleanliness has been even half as great as this place. It was meticulously clean and Emma, the host, had anticipated our every need (and more) with all the little extras that made our stay even more enjoyable--fresh flowers in little pots all over the house, slippers and robes, quality shampoo, conditioner & body wash, Nespresso coffee maker with coffee pods, the cottage tastefully decorated with art and cozy furniture, board games to play, every possible kitchen utensil one could want, a pitcher with cold water waiting for us in the fridge, even a handwritten note from the host, welcoming us and addressing the things my friend and I were hoping to do on our little vacation. We felt so at-home and comfortable. Can't say enough good things about our stay. Thank you, Emma! Outstanding job!

Summary: We loved all of the personal touches. The beds were very comfortable, and the bathroom was gorgeous. The shower felt amazing after a day of rafting and walking the Royal Gorge Bridge. Emma gave us some great dinner recommendations . We would definitely stay again when the weather is cooler. The only AC is in the master bedroom which stayed cold. Our teenagers had to sleep with 2 fans and an open window. Thank goodness we brought 2 fans with us. Without the fans and opening the windows, the temp inside was 79 degrees. The window AC couldn't cool the entire house because it was a very warm day outside. Being from TX, we are accustomed to central AC because we spend half of the year with 90 degrees or more. The house was 75 degrees when we woke up.
