This beautiful 2 bedroom, 2.5 bath pet friendly home sits on its' own spectacular waterfront peninsula with over an acre of land! Both bedrooms are on the upper level. Primary bedroom has a queen bed, ensuite bath with shower, spectacular water views and private balcony. The second bedroom has a queen size murphy bed, ensuite bath with tub and a queen size sleeper sofa. There is room for the whole family to enjoy the gorgeous views from every direction. The fully equipped kitchen features a refrigerator with ice maker, electric stove and oven, dishwasher, microwave and Keurig. The open floor plan flows beautifully into the living and dining area with ample seating. Fireplace in living is non working and for decoration only. There is however, an inviting outdoor fire pit for your pleasure. The lovely screen in porch expands your living space. The private dock is perfect for an afternoon of fishing, sunbathing or simply relaxing. There is an outside shower for cleaning up prior to preparing your catch on the charcoal grill. This gorgeous home on Bay River as well as Ball Creek welcomes the entire family to kick back, relax and enjoy the best that Merritt has to offer! Perfect for bird watching and regular dolphin sightings!
This property allows a well behaved dog with a $25 per day pet fee collected by the host prior to arrival.

Summary: My husband and I very much enjoyed staying at My Pointe of View. The house is not only beautiful, but comfortable with multiple porches and great views from each of them. We had originally planned more day trips but decided to limit them so we could spend more time at the house, just enjoying the water, seeing many birds, deer (right in the back yard), and yes, finally seeing some dolphins! All in all a wonderful week!

Summary: If you're looking for a beautiful place that offers peace and quiet, this is the place. If you want to do things, Oriental and New Bern aren't far away.. But this was the perfect peaceful getaway with no distractions other than nature's beauty..

Summary: The house is situated in the ideal spot on a peninsula. You feel like you have privacy without feeling totally isolated. The house is way cool. The view is awesome from the living room. The dock is a great bonus even if you’re just gonna watch the sunrises and sunsets. We saw dolphins swimming fairly close nearly every day. Just a tad disappointed in the fishing situation there at the house. I didn’t catch a fish at all and I tried for days. Went to North State Guide services and had a great day fishing that made up for it. Very clean property. Well maintained and looked like the pictures but better. The owners/hosts were great to work with. Beautiful area! The natural beauty (trees and natural coastline) might not be there much longer though. There was a lot of construction noise during the days. I hope the area doesn’t get over developed and take away the reason you travel there. As for now, can’t wait to go back!

Summary: The house and property are one of the most beautiful places we have stayed. The house is adorable and immaculately clean. We had everything we needed for an amazing stay. We enjoyed walking the neighborhood, dining at Oriental and New Bern, and most content just sitting outside and admiring the views of the water. We were pleasantly overwhelmed with peace and tranquility. We loved our stay! We are already planning to come back in August. Thank you.

Summary: My Point Of View is perfection! The cottage is clean and bright and stocked with necessities. My husband and I travel to fish. We are seniors and fishing has been our passion all our lives. We spent most of our time on the dock fishing. Caught a couple of speckled trout and a blue all the while enjoying the dolphins playing and feeding. Thank goodness we had perfect weather. Such a pleasure to stay in a home so fantastic and grateful for it all!
