Summary: The look of the house from the outside is nice. Inside, the couch arms were broken, some of the sheets on the bed were stained and there were ants in the kitchen. For the amount we paid to rent this home, I expected clean, crisp sheets and nice furniture. On the final night a bat got in the house through a hole in the wall somewhere (we hadn’t left any doors or windows open where it could’ve gotten in). It was flying around making a stressful situation for our group. The pool looked nice, but when we went in March, it was too cold to swim. The pool is not heated.

Summary: We definitely underestimated the property based on the photos and reviews. This was the best rental property we’ve ever rented in Costa Rica, wish we could have stayed there longer. Make sure to check the shared pool and garden down the road, we only discovered it the last day. Would definitely go back if there is an opportunity.

Summary: Easy check-in. Accommodation was clean and ready for us. I read in other reviews not much hot water but my husband informed me that the water heated as it went through the head so a slower flow made it okay. Lovely back patio we enjoyed. Saw a Red frog...so excited! Close to grocery stores. Only wish was more utensils, bowls etc to make and prep meals. Would be back in a heart beat!!

Summary: Home has a very Cista Rican vibe. Mattresses were a little uncomfortable but the house was clean, amply equipped kitchen abd a nice little private pool. We would book here again, a little out of the way of major attractions but we had a car so it was a beautiful ride anywhere we wanted to go.

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Cabana Monay. It was our home away from home for 8 days and we couldn’t have asked for better accommodations. Close enough to Fortuna for daily excursions. We did have a rental car and our maps app took us right to the property. . The kitchen had enough equipment for easy meals. (Bring your own spices if you need them). There were sugar ants but I think when you’re in the rain forest you should just expect some bugs. No biggie for us anyway. It was clean and comfortable inside although we spent all of our down time on the patio. Coffee in the a.m. and wine at night. It backs right up to the forest with a running river behind it. Very peaceful. We didn’t utilize the pool as the water was a bit cold but I imagine if it was a hotter ambient temp it would be fabulous. Amenities, ie grocery, liquor and good local fare are all very close. Within walking distance. Enjoy your stay! We sure did.
