This authentic log cabin was recently remodeled. It is located only a couple of miles from DeSoto State Park, nestled in the woods on a quiet country road. Prepare to relax, unwind and get away from the hustle and bustle. This cabin is Non-Smoking and Pet Free. Cook an entire meal with a fully equipped kitchen or dine in one of the excellent locally-owned restaurants. It has a natural slate tiled shower with rain shower head and handheld sprayer. This cabin has a loft with a queen size bed, as well as a pullout couch with queen bed for additional sleeping in the living room. Sip coffee or tea while relaxing on the glider-rocker located on the private back porch, which overlooks a peaceful forest. Birds, chipmunks, and deer are often seen in the area. Cozy up next to a fire in the fire pit and admire the stars. Finish your day off with a relaxing soak in the hot tub (by the way, the hot tub is emptied and cleaned and filled with fresh water after each guest). Enjoy hiking, sightseeing, and exploring in nearby Historic Mentone, DeSoto State Park, DeSoto Falls, and Little River Canyon. Take in a round of golf at Cloudmont Ski & Golf Resort or go horseback riding through the trails in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. This area has so much to offer. Summary: This was our first time in Mentone and we will definitely be back. The cabin is decorated and equipped perfectly! When you first walk in all of your senses are pleased, the cabin smelled wonderful, your eyes are drawn to the beautiful hardwood floors, the comfy leather couch and the magnificent apron sink in the kitchen. The décor was perfect, it felt homey and cozy; you instantly want to curl up on the sofa and start reading a book. There were little touches throughout that made it even better, like the robes, the games, even the hand soap in the bathroom. Speaking of bathroom, the shower was awesome with the rain shower head and the detachable wand plus the heated fan. Our first night we had a pizza from Mentone Market around a campfire in the backyard. While sitting around the fire we counted 15 deer that walked from the neighbor's on the left through our yard to the neighbor on the right's yard. Right in front of the fire! We ended every night at the campfire and watched the deer for hours playing and eating in the neighbor's yard. We woke up every morning with a beautiful view from the loft upstairs looking down over the pond at the bottom of the ridge. You are centrally located to all the sites of Mentone and Fort Payne. We loved the hot tub and the ambiance of the chandelier and lights around the hot tub. I cannot say enough about how perfect this cabin is for a couple's getaway. Nathan is a great host, very responsive and great recs for dinner and things to do.

Summary: Everything was fantastic! Enjoyed a much needed getaway for a relaxing weekend. We loved seeing the deer in the driveway from the kitchen window. The hot tub was spot on after hiking all afternoon. If not for Monday meetings we would stay an extra day.
