1 Bedroom House in Petoskey

Beautiful 1Bedroom, 1½ bath Cottage has recently been gutted and remodeled with luxury finishes. Completely new modern kitchen with high-end appliances and granite countertops. New maple wood flooring, laundry room, and a fieldstone wood fireplace for staying cozy on cool nights. Large lakeside deck with expansive views of picturesque Crooked Lake, a fire pit for roasting marshmallows, and a dock for fishing, boating or enjoying the views. During the months of July and August, we only rent from Friday to Friday. The master bedroom has a king bed. The addition of a queen aero-bed added to the den can sleep 2 more (open to the dining room) and we are adding an additional queen bed in the open area behind the fireplace which will be able to sleep 2 more adults or kids. Total of 6 people could stay here easily.
Fifty feet of waterfront is shared with the rental property in back. Need more room? Rent the 3 bedroom, 2 bath Coach House Loft on the same property to sleep a total of 10 (see property #7085176). This area is a vacation wonderland: bring your boat, or rent one nearby to cruise the inland waterway to Pickerel, Burt, and Mullet Lakes. Or if you’re adventurous, go all the way to Cheboygan and Lake Huron. Golf at some of the finest courses, shop the cute boutiques of Petoskey, Harbor Springs, Charlevoix and Bay Harbor. Taste the wines and beers in our rapidly growing vineyard and microbrewery businesses. Spend the day on Mackinac Island. Enjoy the music and cultural events at the Bayview Association. Spend a beach day at Petoskey State Park or Sturgeon Bay. Try your luck at the Odawa Casino or attend one of the numerous summer festivals in area communities. Hop on the recently finished paved bike trail a few blocks away and travel to nearby communities. Downtown Petoskey is 5.1 miles away and Harbor Springs is 7.3 miles from our property.

Summary: Great owners. Easy to communicate with. Well stocked, pretty home. Very clean. Close to everything. If i could make one suggestion, it would be to clear the dock area of weeds. Very hard to get the boat in and out.

Summary: A nicely located property on good fishing/boating/kayaking lake. A few issues that cause this property to not be worthy of the premium rate charged (close to $500/night summer rate) - most all of the towel bars and toilet roll fixtures were loose and toilet paper roll holder in sm bath did not hold paper. - kitchen garbage drawers did not stay closed. - deck is not worthy of premium rating, dirty and somewhat bug infested. Outdoor furniture less then average. - bedroom light fixture loose and many cobwebs. (Owner called out the loose issue) - bedroom drawers dirty and did not stay closed either. - kitchen window curtain/shade missing, not private to neighbor.

Summary: We needed something a little bigger than a hotel room for our family of 5 (2 adults and 3 kids). This property was perfect for our weekend stay for a soccer tournament! We were able to utilize the kitchen and grill to eat in. The kids loved playing in the yard and we enjoyed nightly bonfires after the kids went to bed. The neighbor’s on both sides were super friendly and welcoming. Great location to downtown and any amenity needed!

Summary: The cottage was just as described, new, clean, modern. It was very comfortable for the three of us, the beds and linens were very nice, and the kitchen was well appointed. We enjoyed kayaking and paddle-boarding on Crooked Lake, and the proximity to other activities in the Petoskey, Harbor Springs, Charlevoix area. The hosts were very responsive and informative. The neighbors were very nice as well.

Summary: My husband and I had a really nice comfortable time in this hidden gem on Crooked Lake. The interior had recently been redone and the appointments were excellent. The cookware was more complete than in many of the prior vacation homes I have leased that were for parties of 8 or greater. Beds and sheets were very comfortable-big king and a queen off to the side in a nook in the living room. Parking for 2-3 cars in tandem was easy in the shared driveway. We did not use the dock at end of property but the other family using the nearby second rental property used it without issue. My son fished elsewhere on Crooked lake and Pickerel and the variety and size of the fish was fantastic. Gars, pike, walleye, a few bluegills, small mouth and large mouth bass. Never a day without an interesting catch. There is not really a swimming area at the end of the property but petoskey state park is very close and the beach there is outstanding with little risk of swimmer's itch. All the fun things to do are very close--Petoskey with its shops and restaurants and beautiful waterfront. Many hiking trails. Yes, the property is in a denser cottage area but neighbors were nice and there are lots of trees around to create more privacy. The area is close to US31 so you do hear road traffic if outside at rush hours but the house is amazingly soundproofed and our sleep or day was not affected if inside. The view was of a cove with lilypads and geese,duck and swans to the west and open water straight on. Jarod is very responsive and answers messages quickly. We needed nothing extra during the visit. Would definitely recommend
