Positive: Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Delicious food - especially the steak and dessert. Since they were closed on my checkout date, they provided me with a delicious continental breakfast. Wonderful location for local hiking, with a trailhead right next to the hotel and a beautiful viewpoint only 5 minutes away. Overall I absolutely loved my stay and would come back / recommend to others!

Negative: The walls are thin so I can imagine this would be challenging during the busy season. For me, it wasn't a problem! Also, the rooms can get warm and stuffy - nothing that opening the windows couldn't help! The front door of the room faces directly outside to the parking lot on the ground level so there's not much privacy if you want to leave the shade open. Also, be aware that they're closed on Mondays.

Negative: There was coffee and tea in the room but a couple of plates and some cutlery would have been nice. We had some cake to have with our cup of tea but no plates, or a knife to cut it.

Positive: This is a beautiful location right on the mountain, very close to hiking trails. The staff was the most helpful with us, they helped us with having a late dinner (very delicious), suggested the best places with maps and everyone was very positive. The room was ok.

Negative: There were very a small parking lot, we couldn’t find a place but further away (staff helped us pack out lagguages in front of our room though). The room was cold, no shower gel just soap.

Summary: Beautiful location right on the mountain with the best staff

Positive: What a lovely place, very scenic and comfortable. The perfect mountain getaway. We even enjoyed a spectacular sunrise from a viewing platform (just a couple of minutes drive from the property, worth getting up early). The staff is also extremely friendly and welcoming. Thanks for the hospitality, we will be back for sure!

Positive: Great location at foot of Mount Taranaki with wonderful warm units. Bathtub for soaking weary legs after hike. The bed was very comfortable. The restaurant offered a good selection of tasty meals, big portions. The staff is very friendly and makes you feel at home.

Positive: Beautiful setting and if the weather were nice, the walks would have been amazing.

Negative: Breakfast was very pricey. Parking for rooms up top were difficult to park in and get out of. Having no Sky TV or movies was a bit disappointing considering we are a long way from anywhere. Especially since it did rain a lot.
