The house is close to the forest and close to the nearby station (Train, bus with direct connection to Heidelberg). You walk ba feet in 10 minutes to the station and the next supermarket. The appartment is very calm despite of the little distance to the station. Summary: Most excellent accommodations. Easy to find, free parking, lovely host. Apartment was spacious, private, and all the comforts of home. Close to train, if needed. Excellent choice if near or around Heidelberg. Would absolutely stay here again.

Summary: This is a nice, quiet apartment right next to a beautiful hiking trail into Heidelberg (about 7km to a tram that goes down the hillside and stops at the Schloss Heidelberg). The hosts were very accommodating and friendly. A discount super market as well as diverse riverside restaurants are in walking distance. Would definitely recommend for a nice, relaxed getaway!

Summary: We found this appartment perfect for our needs, it was very clean and well equipped. Even though Google earth shows the train station close by, you could not hear the trains at all. The 7 minute walk to the railway station was a bonus as we did not have a vehicle, and from there we were able to travel to many parts of the country, very easily. The Neckar River and towns alongside it are all picturesque and we did not need to travel far to see something different, interesting and historical. The main supermarkets were a fair distance away, we went there by car, with friends, however there is a small store close by that sold all the main items one would want for a meal as well as beer and wine, so it was well located. We loved our walk up to Dilsberg, along the river and then up the hill, and on a Sunday were surprised to see a couple of cafe open to serve us. Our favourite town close by was HIrschorn but it was closely followed by all the nearyby towns on the Neckar and of course Heidelberg was visited several times. Be sure to walk the Philosopher's Walk when you visit Heidelberg. A day's excursion each to Cologne, Frankfurt and Stuttgart (great Mercedes museum) was doable due to the fast trains caught at Mannheim. I most defintely would recomend this apartment and Neckargemund to any one and especially my friends and relatives. Sue Connor
