Summary: My husband and I spent a wonderful week in the house. It is located in a quiet residential area not far from numerous sights. The furnishings are tasteful and of high quality, everything is very spacious and well equipped with everything you need (just bring your own towels). The garden is a great place to relax. The hosts were always available and very helpful.

Summary: The good: Almost everything you need is available The outside seating is perfect for dinner as the sun goes down The rear garden is a sun trap The bed/linen was clean and comfortable as was the kitchen and bathroom The bad: Little or no storage in the house apart from one wardrobe, all the drawers are full No fly screens on the windows The gas oven was a nightmare to control We ran out of gas in the middle of cooking dinner on the third day, no information on replacing! Had to call the owners in The Netherlan The cutlery/glasses were all "cloudy" as the dishwasher was out of rinse aid! The floors appear to have been swept not mopped The worst: The house is damp, I don't think it been occupied for weeks if not months, the heater in the kitchen diner had been switched on but wouldn't turn off, the owner currently in France cam and disconnected it The heater in the windowless hall leading to the windowless toilet and bathroom didn't work hence to dampness got worse to the extent that the bathroom and toilet floors were wet at the end of our stay. It was humid on one particularly day but this was not the only reason The house is very dark with so few windows so needs lights switched on all of the time Steps into the hall are hazardous Most of these points were advised to owners during our stay Would I recommend it? No

Summary: We enjoyed seeing a deer in the garden, a week wasn't long enough to see all the places of interest in the area. Just a little bit tricky to find the narrow entrance to the property.

Summary: The gite was very rustic and comfortable, with a pleasant outlook and not too far from a town, with various amenities. The property was well appointed with a large kitchen / dining area. We enjoyed sitting under the tree at the table when the weather was warm and sunny, which was most of the time, thankfully!

Summary: My wife and I spent a week in the property during June '18. I have to say we feel that we made an excellent choice. Firstly, the house itself has been well renovated with its original character retained (I assume it was a farm's outbuilding). We spent most of our time in the large kitchen with its big wooden table. The bedroom was of a decent size and there was also a modern toilet and bathroom. Upstairs was a living room although we did not use this area it could comfortably sit half a dozen people. The outside area is as pictured although it extends about 20m back to a field, which in itself backs onto a wooded hill. I am not entirely sure where the boundary is between our place and the neighbour's but I would say the grassy area could be used within reason. The views were sublime and also featured much bird life and one deer at dusk. The whole location is supremely private and peaceful. The weather was seriously hot during our visit but the house remained lovely and cool. One final point to add is that the owners have equipped the house with everything you could possibly need, although we had to bring our own towels. Arrival and departure was completed without any fuss. The property is located in a small and attractive hamlet around 30/40 minutes walk from the gorgeous Couze Et St Front. Couze contains several restaurants, shops and a bar overlooking the Dordogne. Within a short driving distance are larger towns and many of the area's most attractive features. We are delighted that we chose this property and location for our first visit to the Dordogne.
