Positive: Lovely period stay, evocative and comfortable. The room with the sauna was particularly nice and spacious. Beds were comfortable and the shower hot and good pressure.

Negative: The shower is over the toilet essentially and makes everything wet in the entire bathroom- for the money that didn’t feel so good. The breakfast was very average but tasty enough. There was something on downstairs and there was a lot of noise as the people left, enough to wake me up. On checkout there was nobody to help with my heavy luggage down the stairs.

Positive: Comfortable, clean rooms in a historic part of Qingdao. Very quiet location, and the Qingdao coastal path is just a few minutes walk away.

Negative: There was nothing not to like, though it’s worth pointing out that this is a historic building and not a luxury hotel, so the bathroom is necessarily basic, though clean and perfectly functional! I thought the breakfast could have been more interesting.

Positive: The location of the property is really amazing , it is within 5 minutes walk to the beach . The streets are clean filled with amazing smell of acacia and other deciduous trees. Rooms are neat and tidy , you can feel the historic heritage in the air . The owners of the hotel are lovely and friendly people always ready to come to your rescue ( the door handle of the bathroom came off and the owner fixed it within 20 minutes ). They served European style breakfasts 🍳 accompanied by superb coffee coming from the genuine italian coffee machine. Whenever I asked for a refill of coffee , the kind owner made so many cups of coffee for us without charging any extra money for it . In general , we genuinely enjoyed our stay at this hotel and we definitely would like to come back here any time soon . That was a splendid experience .

Positive: Very welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Boutique hotel dimension. Family hotel feeling. Historic building modernized with care. Great coffee served in the hotel, micro brewery 3 min away. Hotel terrace with ocean view. Coffee place with rooftop bar and ocean view across the street (2 min). Overall, a great location to arrive/depart, relax AND explore the city. Beach(es) 5 min away, Metro Stop 5 min away, with direct connection to both relevant train stations (qingdao and qingdao north) as well as May 4 square (dining, shopping). Old town in reach by cab and metro. Olympic area and highest building with City Observatory 1 km away (nice walk). One Note: Old narrow streets in the area get congested quickly. Metro is an attractive alternative. Next time in Qingdao, we will make sure to book here again.
