Positive: The rooms where very basic howver provided the necccessary comforts for the stay.

Negative: We as a family new what was provided within the hotel and where happy with the rooms the food the exceptional service from the staff and the personal touches implemented to cater to my large family groups of over 30 people. Can not fault anything. We would like to thank sugath his wife, auntie and their boys and also the bar staff summer who brought the bells in with us. We will definelty return.

Summary: Arrived as guests and left feeling like family.

Negative: we have stayed at the northern a few times in the past and were very happy, but on this occasion We did not get the size of bed we requested and the room window was slightly stuck open, we were constantly awakened by passing lorries during the night, not happy on this stay.

Positive: Wasn't too sure about the location to start with but once inside it became irrelevant. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, friendly and welcoming. The decor was very tastefully done with the room being both warm and comfortable. Breakfast though on the pricey side was very good.

Positive: The staff were absolutely fantastic. Very helpful and friendly and chatty. The complementary night cap drinks from " Auntie " after the football was a nice touch. Didn't have breakfast but had evening meals. The meals were excellent and well presented. The Sri Lanka curry was very tasty. Ample size room for a 2 night stay The shower area is a good size with a nice powerful shower. Comfortable bed Ample parking Good locality, 5 minutes walk to the football stadium.

Negative: Although there's secondary glazing in the room, there was a bit of noise from traffic in the main street. Although the bed was comfortable, the pillows could do with upgrading. I thought the drinks were a bit pricey ( I would expect to pay these prices in Edinburgh), although the wine servings were pretty ample.
