Positive: This property is located in a nice quiet neighborhood with easy access to shopping and beaches. The property was clean and ready to use when we arrived. The kitchen was fully functional and had all the dishes, utensils and pots we needed for our stay. Both bathrooms had plenty of towels, soap, shampoo and conditioner. Having a washer and dryer was nice too. The view from the house and deck of the ocean is a definite plus.
Negative: The furnishings are definitely dated and the couch was a bit smelly. The carpeting is worn with a few visible stains. The spiral staircase is a hindrance for anyone with mobility issues and you have to be careful walking around them in the living room or you can hit your head on them. We got used to the staircase so it wasn’t a problem for us. Overall it wouldn’t stop us from staying here again.
Summary: Cute little 60’s/70’s time capsule rental with a great location and view.

Positive: The place was the cleanest I have ever been in! Not a speck of dirt, hair or cobweb to be found! We loved the older furnishings and feeling like we stepped back in time a bit... like at our grandparents. Some might not appreciate that, but we did. The view was breathtaking! The kitchen, very nice to work in. I loved some of the old roaster pans that are the best to cook with. Can't find those good ones any more. Our kids (12 & 14) absolutely loved the place and said how cool it was! We also appreciated the bookcase filled with all Christian literature. We really loved reading over all the book titles and seeing what we were familiar with and had at our own home. Thank you for that.
Negative: While the house was exceptionally clean, the cleaner that was used (I'm assuming on the floors, carpet or linoleum) was sooooo strong when you walked in, it aggravated my asthma and gave me a headache the first evening untill it wore off. It smelled like straight, strong smelling cleaning solution was used to mop the floors or something, instead of diluted. That could really cause problems for people who have allergies. With that said, even the very perfumey Mrs Meyers hand soap that was provided at all the sinks in the house can be too strong and aggravate allergies. My family all complained about it. Regular Soft Soap hand soap is probably a better neutral choice for guest use as everybody might have different allergies. There was a slight musty smell in the house, not bad, slight...but I don't think you can get away from that with an older beach home. We loved the older home and so that's probably just part of the package. The water didn't settle with our tummies.....My husband and I drank the water the first evening we were there (for coffee) but we became nauseous afterwards the rest of the evening, so only used bottled water the rest of the time, even for making our coffee and then we were fine. The bed upstairs wasn't the most comfortable, but I've slept on worse. The kids liked the downstairs bed though.

Positive: Location, Location, Location! Plenty room for us 4. NIce roomy layout. Great to have separat bathrooms upstairs and downstairs. Since my husband is physically challenged we used the bed and bath downstairs which had a walk in shower. The young ones had fun to walk the stairs:) The big windows were amazing to be watching on cooler afternoons from inside. Nice place to be sitting outside on the balcony to watch the sunset. All in all we loved it.

Positive: Nice location. Beds are very comfortable. Nice cozy place. Nice little deck to sit out on and look at the ocean. Pretty small downstairs queen bedroom but the bed was comfy. Tight squeeze up/down the spiral staircase to a nice sized king bedroom with a great view and full bathroom. The heat worked well downstairs. There is a plug in heater to use upstairs in both the bedroom and bathroom. Extra soft blanket in the closet. Does have an ice maker in the freezer section. There is a blow dryer in both bathrooms which was nice. Plenty of dish soap, laundry soap, dryer sheets. Great dog basket with leashes, bowls and towel to dry. Has lots of cooking utensils, pots and pans. Nice little BBQ in the breezeway thank goodness. Cut up our prime rib into steaks since the oven was a no go. Microwave worked good, toaster good. There is a big 12 cup coffee pot and a small 4 cup to meet needs plus a hot tap on the faucet which is very nice. Would book again knowing all the little issues and quirks we encountered now that we know to account for it. The view is outstanding and is really a nice cozy little house. Just needs a little upgrading to the oven and stove top.
Negative: Says parking for 2 cars yet lucky can get 1. Have to park longways in front of the garage. Oven does not work. Seen the reviews but had hoped they got it fixed since we planned a lot of cooking and lots of complaints to upgrade. So don't plan on using the oven for anything. After 2.5 hours trying to cook 3 baked potatoes at 500 degrees, it was a hard no. Only 2 of the 4 burners work so had to time everything only using 2 burners which were the small ones. Only 1 roll of T.P for the downstairs bathroom. I was surprised that in all the reviews we read there was not a mention of the leaning and slope of the floors. Leans/sloped towards the downward slope of the backyard. Couch is cupped and leans back and is hard to get up from with fighting against the gravity of the pitch/sloped flooring was really hard for our elderly parents to get up off the couch, myself included The dryer takes a long time to dry things. Took 3 cycles to attempt drying the sheets on departure. Not sure if even dried on 3rd go around as we had departed by then. Pillows really need to be upgraded. Really soft and flat next time we will bring ours from home.
