Summary: We had a good stay here with comfortable beds. Crofton sits handily between Nanaimo and Victoria, so it is a good location if you are galivanting around southern Vancouver Island. The house does have room to spread out and a kitchen more spacious than most. Bill, the manager, had some lovely flowers and vegetables for us and was easy to work with. I'll admit the landscaping and ocean view did not live up to the pictures, and the shared laundry area could use some tidying up - but these were not items that were vacation-killers for us. Overall, good value; would stay here again.

Summary: We really enjoyed our stay and loved the view. Our last night there we had 12 people over to say goodbye and spent the whole evening on the deck. Thank you so much Bill for all the fresh veggies. We would love to come back again. Great yard for our little dog to enjoy as well.

Summary: Plus : fully fenced yard for dogs , travel in either direction up or down island easy , roses everywhere on arrival nice touch Minuses: despite VRBO having a national advertising campaign that you get whole house to yourself … you don’t . There is a person living in apartment below main floor and no matter how innocuous he tries to be you can still smell his food cooking , hear noises of occupation . He isn’t loud but there is a presence that I wish the ad had stated more obviously . I felt if I could hear him he could definitely hear me …. I prefer to be a night owl watch tv til 1-2 am but couldn’t feel comfortable to do that in this circumstance . This bothered me in last visit too but not enough to deter me from coming back. Second major for you was the constant screaming of children playing in schoolyard abutting property. 10 am til noon and 1-3 pm there were always kids playing . If your purpose is to chill in the backyard with your dogs reading etc this is disruptive day after day on a long stay . Didn’t encounter this in a winter stay here.:) too cold for kids to be out more then 15 min. This visit was in june . Depending on itinerary this may not be a detriment . Overall I do feel this is a good place to stay . I just won’t book in June again due to noise . Good value for money . The guy in basement is a sweetheart but I felt his presence . Again not what the national campaign implies . Overall house good rooms adequate, people helpful and great for dogs

Summary: Pros: The view from the property is very nice and the town is quiet and small. The location was central for us to explore various parts of the Cowichan area and Salt Spring Island. The upstairs of the house (the rental part) is spacious, the bed(s) comfortable. We found the kitchen supplies to be adequate for our stay. Duncan or Chemainus are a short drive away for a big grocery shopping and the small local grocery store is reasonable. Cons: Some basic cleaning and maintenance was needed and we spent the better part of our first day cleaning it to the point where we were reasonably comfortable. We chose to use the laundromat in town instead of the washer and dryer that is shared. Significant for us was the fact that the “on-site property manager” lives in the lower level and is present 24/7. The house has no sound proofing - it is just a normal house that has been divided up and down into suites - so we could hear him and he could obviously hear us. We found that uncomfortable for a vacation setting. We were aware that there was someone onsite, but expected the setup to be a bit more private and quiet.

Summary: This spacious vrbo was perfect for us while we visited with family. It’s close to the harbour and Salt Spring ferry as well as hiking trails. The dining room seats six and the kitchen has every utensil one could possibly require to make meals. The bed is very comfortable and there’s no shortage of linens. On site manager, Bill, was available and responded immediately to any concern. Overall, we were met pleased with the accommodation.

Summary: Stayed at Sunnyslope for a long weekend in November. The check-in process was quick and easy and the house was spacious and well-equipped. There are two bathrooms and two bedrooms, which made it an ideal setup for two couples. The only negatives were that the floors were a bit dirty and there were cobwebs in some corners, and that the house is a bit dated. These were relatively minor inconveniences though. We had a great stay, and would definitely stay here again in the future!
