Pumpkin Point is located on Rackliff Island, which is part of the Tenants Harbor and St. George Peninsula. Pumpkin Point overlooks the wide, open ocean and the outer islands on the horizon, Spruce Head Island to the left and Clark Island to the right. You will see lobster boats, sailboats, kayakers, and cruising boats working their way around the Mussel Ridge Channel. Offering an ideal blend of seclusion and close proximity to nearby activities, you'll never want to leave.
Pumpkin Point was designed and built to bring its unique and striking waterfront location indoors – floor-to-ceiling windows, warm wood abounds and a soaring fireplace, built from the very granite surrounding the island, is the mainstay of the family room. Outdoor living spaces are found on each floor – a covered outdoor dining area, a sprawling deck at the front of the house as well as two private decks on the second floor. There are views from virtually every room and they are as ever-changing as the tides.
The home sits on a small point. On one side, the lawn leads to a private wharf and smooth granite ledge dipping down to the water, while an easily accessible sandy beach dotted with tide pools is on the other. Go boating and fishing from the wharf in the morning and then spend the afternoon with your toes in warm sand reading a good book.
Inside, the main floor has a spacious family room with a fireplace and a large, well-equipped kitchen with a dining area to seat all of your guests. Both these rooms have access to the front deck via French doors. The high ceilings, complemented by the abundance of natural light, creates a homey ambience you're sure to appreciate. Upstairs, there are three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a large game room with a regulation-sized pool table, a minibar, a cozy conversation area overlooking the water, and a multi-purpose room. Be sure to make your way through one of the bedrooms to the private, rooftop deck with a bistro set. Photos of the views from this elevated deck don't do it justice!

Summary: Loved the home and views. Appreciate the fact that the kitchen had lots of pots, pans and things like spices, aluminum foil, etc. Last Vacasa rental we stayed did not even have salt or pepper. Thank you owners and renters for passing those items forward for the next guests. We made sure we left items as well. The large bulk water was also most appreciated so could fill our hiking bottles and avoid plastic bottles. Overall great experience and would rent again.

Summary: We loved the views of the oceanfront in the backyard. The floor plan of this house was nearly perfect for our family needs, having separate private spaces with bathrooms for each family unit. The location is secluded and yet we found plenty of fun things to do nearby.

Summary: We could not have asked anything better ....Pumpkin Point had it all and more! It is a gorgeous home in an ideal location. The house was spotless when we arrived. The view is exactly what you want in a Maine coast home - the pictures almost don't do it justice. You could enjoy the views from most rooms of the house and the front porch without going down to the dock, which was great for the older generation in our family. We watched seals swimming and fishing right in front of the house while we had coffee in the mornings! The kitchen had everything we needed to feel at home cooking and the bedrooms and baths were stocked with perfectly clean linens and towels. There was plenty to do just hanging out at the house but also short drive (20 mins) to Rockland and a little farther to Camden, two lovely towns with shops and restaurants. We would definitely go back to Pumpkin Point in a heartbeat.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family and I traveled up to Maine from NY and Florida to spend a week at Pumpkin Point. Upon arriving we were amazed by the house and the view. The kitchen is extremely well stocked. The staff at Summermaine are responsive and helpful (we worked with Jennifer Maynard). The only issues we found were that the house wasn’t as maintained as we’d hoped. The front steps were loose and moved when you stepped on them, floor boards on the back porch were lifting, trees were growing in the gutters..... while we know it is a rental property, for the price we anticipated pristine. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay for the week.
