A true getaway! Unwind in a private campsite, off-grid (phone will work), 1 room ceder cabin. Yes, you may encounter wildlife, spiderwebs (they can pop up overnight), real camping. Surrounded by 30 acres of woods for hiking, see if you can find the bomb shelter! Includes twin futon, chairs, table, fire pit and a small charcoal grill. No water or electricity, outhouse on the property. Also includes a rowboat, canoe and fishing poles on non-sport, private, clean water lakes. (For swimming you will want to paddle out to the lake as it is mucky in front of the cabin.) You can fish and wade in the canal in front of the cabin.
One mile to Mike Levine Lakeland's non-motorized bike Trail. Walk or ride your bike 1 mile to the trailhead, head East about 2 miles up the trail (past Zukey Lake Tavern) there is a boardwalk to Kroger, a coffee shop, and a dollar store. Bring towels, sleeping bags, Water, charcoal, firewood, cooking supplies, life jackets, space heater, and everything you need for camping. (You are welcome to use dead wood on the property.) There is a lot of wildlife including deer.
Only 20 minutes from AnnArbor and downtown Brighton with great shops and restaurants.

Nearby is Legacy Center Sports Complex, Mt Brighton ski lodge, Brighton Recreational Park, golfing and more.

Summary: WOW! This location is truly a dream come true. The perfect quaint property for alone time with your partner. Especially if you and your partner are trying to rekindle your relationship sparks! My boyfriend is a true New Yorker, while I am a country girl. This location brought a new level of closeness that we desperately needed. From the drive in, to the gorgeous changing trees, and the warm weather. We could not have asked for a better experience. Debbie and her husband Bear are two beautiful spirits, that were very accommodating. Bear showed my boyfriend and I how to build a proper fire, and even came to get us when the Deers were out! We went on a cute boat ride on the pond that our Cabin overlooked! And I was truly impressed to see how quickly my city slicker boyfriend learned how to row a boat for the first time. Haha! We went horse back riding, @Brighton Recreation riding Stable! Also his first time riding a horse!! We finished the night with uninterrupted alone time, there was no cell phone signal. But the connection between my partner and I was 100% clear! I lastly introduced my boyfriend to an American Favorite, “s’mores” for his first time! If you have been blessed to come across this rental property! DO IT! Absolutely book a night! You will be pleased! Before my boyfriend and I left we looked at each other and agreed, “that we will definitely be back!” Debbie and Bear thank you so much for blessing the world with your gem of a property.

Summary: My husband and I had a wonderful stay at this little cabin. There were more cobwebs and dust than I would expect from a location that hosts paying guests, but I suppose that is part of the rustic experience. There is not a lot of space, and the futon was not very comfortable. We were told the space heater was accessible, but it was not hooked up to the propane. Luckily we did not need it. The outhouse leaves a lot to be desired. Though I love that it is part of a composting effort, the plywood base of the seat is not flush at the corner, nor is it sanded. I had bruises from sitting. The door does not close all the way- there is no handle. There were quite a few spiders that made it very uncomfortable to use- especially at night (though the solar light was appreciated). Replacing the solar lamps on the exterior of the cabin would be a good investment. Overall, this was about time away with my husband, and we enjoyed that quite a bit. It was cozy, quiet, and charming.

Summary: My husband and I came for a two night stay for a little anniversary get away. It was perfect!! Great fishing! Beautiful property ans there were two cots that the host provided with mats. It was small cute, cozy and quiet everything we'd hoped for! We'll definitely be returning!

Summary: Nice location for roughing it in the woods. Just be prepared for the cold. The cabin has no insulation, and you can only run the heater at night, so wouldn’t recommend bringing pets in the colder months, especially if you need to leave them there alone for any reason. But if you’re looking for an opportunity to be one with nature, and you have a hardy constitution, this would be the place to do it. Debbie was also incredibly accommodating and kind, and very willing to work with us.

Summary: My husband and I had a peaceful getaway. A beautiful view with cabin right off the water. It was neat to see a blue heron friend. It was great to explore nature and nearby parks. Debbie, the host was very accommodating. The cabin was clean with nice furnishings and decor. There was a convenient compost toilet and helpful nightlight. We will definitely return for another stay.
