You will never experience anything like our mill anywhere else, steeped in the country side but just 1 hour from Nice airport, on the river, totally private, just get back to nature and shed the weight of work, ill health, stress, problems just seem so far away in our corner of heaven. Listen to the birds, paddle in the brooke that forms in the garden on its way down to the river, swim in the pool and just chill.
Children just love it, teenagers love it and parents love it, bonding with the whole family is just natural
Imagine long, lazy summer days lounging by the pool, splashing in the river, sitting under the shade of the weeping willow keeping cool with your feet in the babbling brook that flows through the garden reading your favourite book, sipping a glass of local red wine or an ice cold prosecco. The children running free searching for frogs, fishing for little river fish and seeing who is the first in the pool every day. Finish the day with a bbq and a walk into the village for an ice-cream or to listen to the local band playing or even join the locals at the village dance. You will not experience anything like it anywhere else. The old mill can be found a few hundred metres along a country lane, steeped in the countryside yet 15 minute walk from the village or 5 minutes by car. Silent and peaceful set in its own gardens surrounded by trees and the sound of the brook gently babbling by providing the mill with it's own private rock pools big enough for bathing. The river also feed the swimming pool at the mill free flowing in and out, no products are used in our natural pool.

We have a proper pizza oven and gas BBQ.
The mill has various terraces with seating arrangements for quiet reading or an alfresco aperitif overlooking the river before lunch or dinner in the garden or by the river or even around the pool, the choice is yours.
There are loungers around the pool and also by the river for a change of venue if necessary.
The living room has a huge open fire for autumn or winter evenings and
the living room has a comfortable sofa bed for extra guest

Summary: Wonderful secluded place. The mill has been turned into a great place to stay at and relax, to have a good vacation and to wind down. The little river by the house gave our kids a fun place to cool down alongside the pool. The kitchen is minimalistic, but the surrounding area offers enough great places to eat authentic Italian food. Communications with the owner were fast and easy.

Summary: Wow! We kept looking around wondering how we got to heaven on earth. Agree with the reviewer that said the interior needs updating. Even just some new rugs, a couch and removal of musty books would make a big difference. BUT the outside space was so very gorgeous that I instantly forgot about anything inside. Sitting on the terrace there are trees every direction you look. There is the most beautiful waterfall with a pool at the bottom perfect for swimming. The teens were so happy the whole time! There is a smaller creek to one side of the garden, multiple sitting areas in the garden and the river fed swimming pool. We were in love and wished we could buy it and live there forever. Summary: The house and surroundings are amazing. There is complete privacy. My kids (15, 11 and 8) had the time of their life. They especially loved the pool and the huge garden. The owners Sandro and Jane were really lovely and mailed us great suggestions for local restaurants and shops before we even arrived. I would very much recommend this house if you like nature and privacy. We would love to come back!

Summary: The position of the old mill is enchanting: perfect for a relaxing holiday in a sunny, magical valley. Two small villages (Castel Vittorio and Pigna) are 15 mins away by foot, if you need to ensure you are still in the 21st century. We will try to come back as soon as possible.

Summary: Amazing location near the river. Adventurous for kids ( > 6 ). Village Pigna 2 min drive, with 3 bars, few restaurants. We can recommend Osteria Martini strongly. The garden of the mill, at the river, is very idyllic and has a wonderful atmosphere. The mill/house itself has everything you need. But in my opinion it was not very clean. That might be a point of improvement. Overall, a very unique spot!!! And a very friendly host!!!!

Summary: This is the perfect getaway! An old mill, ideally situated in a wooded valley, nestled between the Mediterranean sea and the mountains, surrounded by flowing, calming water and luscious greenery. Lots to do in the surrounding area or just relax and enjoy this magical location and property, with its shaded terrace, beautiful garden with a well stocked vegetable patch and the refreshing river fed swimming pool. It doesn’t get much better than this, everything is there, and all you have to do is enjoy it. Thank you Neil and Sandro, we will be back!

Summary: This was our second stay at the old mill, we liked it so much the first time, we just had to come back! It is a little piece of paradise, the location is so peaceful, but you can still walk into Pigna for a coffee or a beer. Everything is very clean and homely, the beds are comfortable, and lots of towels etc. The best thing is the outside space and the pool. We ate outside most evenings, and used the pool every day. Being beside the river, you can spot wildlife and birds, all from your lounger. Lots of lovely little villages within a few miles drive, the local food is great too. We went to Risorante Terme one evening, the food is outstanding. Thanks for sharing this beautiful place with us!

Summary: Our stay at the Old Mill was full of both relaxation and adventure! The property is very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for a week. Great to meet Neil on arrival who gave us a tour of the Mill and told us a bit about it’s history. We were extremely grateful of the freshwater spring fed pools which were perfect for our 6 and 10 year old children and we had some fantastic adventures exploring the river line below the Mill catching tiny fish and swimming in the beautiful clear, clean water. Shopping is easy in Camporosso be sure to stock up before you arrive. We made the short trip via train from Ventimiglia to Monaco one day which was really easy with plenty of car parking around the station. Thank you Neil and to your dad Sandro for meeting us on Arrival and departure. Hope to be back to explore more again one day!!
