Positive: If you’re looking for a no-frills stay with a family, look no further. Charles is very warm and friendly — he did sweet things like showed us how he pollinated vanilla and gave us some of his son’s birthday cake! The property is very close to the beach and to the ferry over to Sainte Marie, which was ideal for us. Coffee at breakfast was good, and we liked having the terrace on the front of the bungalow.

Negative: The hosts weren’t very forthcoming with information, e.g. we found a food menu and surfboard hire information by chance on the day we were leaving, but it wasn’t pointed out to us. Same with Wifi info. Keeping asking things felt a bit like we were inconveniencing the hosts. The bed dipped in the middle so was super uncomfortable for a couple as we both kept rolling into each other — may not be a problem for a single person but not advisable for two. No hot water either. Breakfast pretty basic — banana, jam and bread/crepe.
