Summary: My husband and I stayed here on a two night visit to the Nakasendo Trail and Atera Valley, and had a great experience. The hotel had a very welcoming staff, clean and comfortable rooms, a lovely breakfast, and also a great shared bath. It’s was convenient to walk with our luggage from the station, and close to various places to eat. Highly recommended!

Summary: Rooms are small but that was expected. Hotel was very good overall, it was very clean, the breakfast buffet was good and the public baths were very modern and uncrowded. The hotel took great pride and there was free broth in the evenings and we had a special sushi roll one night for a national celebration. Centrally located within easy walking distance from the station and the old town, as it is actually on the Nakasendo trail. A good base for the Magome to Tsumago walk.

Summary: We are a family of four with two tween/teen children. The room was large enough for us and kids enjoyed the bunk beds very much. The public area was clean and facilities were very good. There was a laundry located in the public bath which was really convenient for us travelling long in Japan. The only downside was the service from certain staffs. There were three ladies at the reception at the night we checked-in, we were trying to figure out the procedure and requirements of the hotel. None of the ladies came up to explain providing one of them can speak fluent English. I asked one of the staff if she could help calling a restaurant to Nagoya for reservations. She refused to help. This was very different to what we had experienced in other hotels/Ryokan in Japan. Other than that, it was a pleasant stay.
