Positive: Stunning location, beachfront bungalow very pleasant

Negative: Resort is shabby and neglected, sunbeds broken and dirty which really undermines the experience.

Summary: This is an amazing location but the resort faces some logistical challanges after 2024 and is tired.

Positive: Good location. The whole island deserves more time to explore, better on your own.

Negative: Absolutely too expensive in proportion to the services offered, practically non-existent. The included breakfast did not have any fresh local fruit until I complained and even then it was poor. In general the menu for lunches and dinners is very expensive and practically with forced and always the same choices. You can't eat the same thing for 10 consecutive lunches and 10 dinners. The management is extremely unreceptive to the point of rudeness.

Summary: I would not recommend friends and family to stay at the Oure Lodge Beach Resort

Positive: Beautiful location right on the beach in a wonderful swimming snorkelling bay. Fish & turtles seen regularly while snorkelling!! Short walk to a couple of other food choices. Food was good; restaurant dinner very good. Villas were spacious & private. We stayed in the beach front & loved the location. Reception staff really helpful - we hired a car for a couple of days which meant we could explore the island.

Negative: Some local fruit in the breakfast option would be great. In general, pricey as per New Caledonia levels.

Positive: Great location on the beach 🏖️. Great bungalow 🛖 and bed 🛏️. A shower 🚿 and a bathtub 🛁. Swimming pool 🏊‍♂️, kayaks 🛶, bikes 🚴 for rent, snorkeling 🤿. Breakfast is served from 6:30 am which leaves you with time for day time activities.

Negative: Not a great value for this range of price. Staff is not concerned about anything. Not eco-friendly despite what they say : we entered our room at 2:15 pm, the air con and the bed lights were on and there was a leak in the sink of the bathroom that we talked about at the reception but nothing happened. The breakfast is mainly made of poorly cooked frozen products 🥐 🧇, the cook doesn't refill until someone tells him they are out of eggs 🍳 or bacon 🥓, the juices 🧃 aren't hand pressed, season fruits 🥭 🍉 are in too low proportion. Tap water 🚱 is advised not to be drunk but when we arrived with our complimentary bottle empty and asked them for another one, they just filled it with tap water...🤦 One of the employees told us that we were supposed to drink only 1.5L of water 🍶 during our stay and, if we needed another bottle, they would charge us. TV 📺 is extra small but it's not that big a deal because it's not supposed to be the main attraction when you stay in a place like this.

Summary: It may have been great a few years ago but now it's not a great value for the money...

Positive: Absolutely beautiful setting - paradise. Really peaceful, a great place to get away from it all.

Negative: As vegetarians we have found New Caledonia doesn't really offer many options at all. The 2 restaurants had no vegetarian options. We mainly ate fries and cheese paninis, breakfast had a reasonable selection of food. But we didn't care because it was such a beautiful place.
