Welcome to Overlook Hideaway. Our home is located on a beautiful, quiet ONE WAY street. This is a private, upstairs 2bd/1ba apartment above our home, located in the beautiful neighborhood of Overlook Park. The space is furnished with everything you'll need to enjoy your stay in Portland, including AC/Heating. We are near some amazing restaurants and shops in neighborhoods like Alberta Arts District, Killingsworth Street, St. Johns and Mississippi Avenue. It's a 10 minute drive across the bridge to beautiful downtown Portland and we're also a short 8 minute drive to MODA Center if you're attending any kind of event.

Summary: We’ve booked quite a few vacation rentals, and while they were all acceptable, this one knocked it out of the park. We’ve found our “go to” place when traveling to Portland.The amount of thought that went into creating this space is evident everywhere you look, from having everything you need (and things you might need, and things you probably don’t need but someone might), to more ephemeral aspects like good placement of light switches, plenty of outlets, and flooring that feels good under your feet. I really can’t imagine how this place could have been more perfect for us.The beds were comfortable, and having two separate bedrooms (that were truly separate, not split by a curtain or something) was excellent. And the second bedroom didn’t have bunk beds or some half-baked idea of a futon on a frame, it’s a proper queen-sized bed. The main bedroom (king bed) was large, with plenty of storage space, seating, and a door to a private deck.The bathroom is very nicely remodeled, with plenty of water pressure and hot water that didn’t run out. Laundry in the unit was a bonus because I forgot to pack some things and had to do laundry for a three-night stay (note to self: pack better next time). As I mentioned, everything we needed was there, the check-out asks weren’t onerous (put used towels in the bathtub, take out the garbage; that was all), and the host was gracious about us wanting to check out an hour later than the 10:00 a.m. standard (teens are hard to get going).

Summary: Just the nicest place- second time here and I’ll be back. Comfortable beds, nice decor. Well stocked kitchen and modern appliances. A bottle of wine and some coffee/ creamer/sugar to get started always appreciated! Great neighborhood for walking and once I found the pedestrian bridge - coffee, bars and restaurants just a 10 minute walk away! Great communication.

Summary: My sister and I greatly appreciated the convenient location and especially the quiet and serenity of the apartment and the neighborhood. I especially enjoyed the cozy nook with the high desk and adjoining window and the small balcony off my bedroom with a commanding view of the harbor. My sister's room also had a great view, and we both loved the entry way deck for morning tea in the sunshine. We are both grateful to have found this wonderful spot!

Summary: The property is in a great location for getting everywhere you want to go. It was clean, the beds were comfortable and the shower had great water pressure and plenty of hot water. That’s all you need as far as I am concerned.
