Positive: The property was very central only a minute from the outskirts of the markets and about 10-15 minute walk to the koutoubia where there’s more markets and restaurants. The staff immediately were very kind we were told all the ins and outs of Marrakesh, what to do and what to look out for this was really helpful as our first time here. The food was delish and stayed open late for our late flight. Room was cleaned everyday and fresh towels everyday. There’s a small sign at the door to the right which is hard to see at first but you can go through the restaurant to get in too.

Positive: The building itself was beautifully designed and very tastefully decorated. The location is quite good, as well. Several of the staff, including the man and woman who lead breakfast service and the people at front office desk, were kind.

Negative: This hotel is not as well maintained as the photos suggest and appears to have experienced some decline. There is dust and dirt everywhere, and the walls are in need of washing. Many little things--for example, bird poop dripping from pictures in the hotel hallways, grime on the lounge chairs on the patios, blackened grout in the showers. Also, the rooftop patio was dirty and not well maintained. Each morning when I left my room the staff only member in the building was asleep in the lobby, and I did not see the owner at all during our week there. Also, just be aware that there is only air conditioning in the bedrooms. The rest of the building has no AC.

Positive: Great location inside the medina. Some lovely decorative features.

Negative: The first room we had (number 10) before we asked to be moved was very noisy as it is at the front of the building overlooking the street. It is however beautifully decorated. Water pressure in the hotel is intermittent and both showers we had were basically trickles which went from scalding hot to freezing cold every few seconds. The staff whilst undeniably friendly are not really very well trained. Even the front desk team leave you standing there whilst they chat to each other. The restaurant staff the same. The food in the restaurant can best be described as average and the breakfast is very limited.

Positive: It truly is a haven and gives vibes of the heritage of Marrakesh. The entrance is hidden down a back street although in fact it is only seconds away from the thoroughfare- gives a mystical element to your arrival. Our junior suite was strewn with red rose petals and the luxury of our own balcony. Truly full of all things Moroccan.

Negative: There was nothing which irked or annoyed.

Positive: The location was great, breakfast was good and the evening meal was good on the occasions when we ate there. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Large swimming pool although a little cold. The roof top area is very big and lots of seating, great area for relaxing.

Negative: Our room was a little noisy as it was on the side of the road. The staff work really hard but sometimes they need more of them particularly at breakfast.

Positive: The location was right in the Medina, we were able to watch to the market The staff were so nice and attentive It was a very spacious place to stay and the terrace was lovely.

Negative: The riad was up a side road, so the taxi/car had to drop us off at the top of the road and we had to walk the rest. It is a pretty safe area, but just because we were both girls we got worried sometimes as we went out a bit later.

Summary: Breath of fresh air, very homely vibe.
