Summary: A spacious, comfortable, nicely furnished Bach with a wonderful view. The host was excellent with communication until we said that there were only 4 towels for the 6 of us..we received no response. The bedroom on the main floor was very draughty. Time for a spring clean throughout- old cobwebs in various rooms, including the kitchen, and the skirting boards and carpet edges need cleaning, as does the ground floor bathroom. Four china dinner plates for 6 people, which, to be fair, we made up with by using the picnic plates. A good location, especially with a car, and there is a bus stop a block away.

Summary: The house worked well for a family of four with additional grandparents, although a floor layout would have been helpful. The basement floor was not the cleanest and has had damp so we didn’t use that floor. The bedroom in the main living floor went to the grandparents for easy access to kitchen/bathroom. The family had the upstairs and enjoyed the stunning views. Manager was very responsive to a problem with cables on the tv and popped round with what was needed. We did struggle with doors onto the decks as they were very stiff, I think not an easy fix sadly. Also a couple of wasp nests starting in the garden meant we couldn’t sit out there. However we used the short walk downhill to the beach everyday, and also enjoyed the deck, albeit only large enough for one or two people at a time. All in all it served our purposes as we only had a few hours each day at the house. It was a great Location, and rare to have car parking here too which was great

Summary: The location and views at this property were amazing, and we loved the short bushwalk to the beach and shops. The house was a good size, with plenty of space for 4 adults. There were, however, a few issues with the house. There were 3 heat pumps. The downstairs one was great, but the 2 upstairs were not functioning properly. This wouldn't have been such an issue if we could have opened the ranch sliders to capture a sea breeze. Unfortunately this wasn't possible, we presume because the balcony was unsafe? Weather was very hot, and this made the upstairs area quite unpleasant. Downstairs bedroom smelt of mould. Smoke alarm had low battery, so we took the battery out to stop the noise. Couldn't find spare batteries, and didn't feel it was our place to fund these. Not enough toilet paper or dishwashing liquid for 4 adults for 7 days. Documentation said there were plug-in mosquito repellant devices in each bedroom. There was 1, and this was empty! Pendant lights in kitchen, dining and living area are way too low. We all had multiple head-banging incidents (yes, we are tall people, but not ridiculously so...). All these things listed above should be relatively quick and easy to fix and maintain. Once they have been addressed, this could just be the perfect Waiheke retreat!
