Positive: The staff were great, food was delicious, snorkelling off the beach was really fun! Very nice idyllic corner of the island. Quite the hike to get there, but we liked that about it!
Negative: We knew there was no AC, but underestimated how hot it would be at night in the room, even with the fan on. The material of the sheets/pillows didn't help, because they were some kind of flannel and thick and felt very warm. Our suggestion would also be to change up the afternoon/evening playlist at the bar a bit;)

Positive: The beach was beautiful and the water was extremely clear.
Negative: The bath had no water pressure at all and the internet was down for all the days we were there. The rooms had no AC and were very small, so it got extremely hot in there.

Positive: Beautiful location right at the beach. Restaurant / bar area at the water is nice for reading a book, enjoying the view, having lunch or watching the sunset. Staff was friendly and attentive, there was an issue with locking our door from the inside and they had it fixed right away.
Negative: The hotel has just opened recently and they are still working on their water supply. We were informed at check in that occasionally there might not be water. However, the water didn't seem to work most of the time. Even when it did, it came out so brown we felt dirtier than after the ocean swim. I feel this should have been disclosed before we booked. We also questioned the hygiene of the food/bar without proper water supply (we had some fruit juices and a meal and did not get sick, everything was good). The rooms were nice but quite hot at night. The bar started playing loud techno party style music from around 2:30 pm on. It did not fit the vibe of Sunset Beach, nor the few guests sitting at the restaurant who were chilling / reading / some even put in earbuds to listen to their own music. I realize this is personal preference, but we would have preferred chill music. We even asked them to change it, but they only made it a tiny bit quieter. At night they have a small disco light which was also not the vibe we wanted, so we went elsewhere for dinner. It seems they are trying to pull in the party crowd which would be a shame since it would really ruin the lovely relaxing atmosphere on Sunset Beach. It would have been great if they would offer water bottle refills for a small charge like what other accommodations on the beach have to save on plastic bottles. It would have also been nice if they had some lounge chairs and hammocks to relax in. The beach right in front of the hotel has been stabilized from erosion with sandbags, so it's not quite as idyllic. But there is enough other beach that this is not such an issue.
