2 Bedroom Cabin in Mount Ida

This rustic with modern amenities cabin is located within minutes from Lake Ouachita and the Caddo River. Montgomery county also has something for everyone from hiking, biking, walking the many trails, digging crystals, as well as hunting and fishing. Our cabin is approximately 3 miles to Twin Creeks with access to a boat ramp, public swimming , and a fishing pier. It is also approximately ten miles to Ouachita Shores, Shangri La & Mountain Harbor Marina. The cabin has a full kitchen with bar seating for 2, a kitchen table that seats 5 and 4 double beds that sleeps eight people. The cabin is located out in the country beside the Ouachita Mountains but only minutes to Mt. Ida for groceries and mom and pop restaurants. If the night life or horse racing is what your looking for, Hot Springs is only 45 minutes from our newly built cabin and is home to Oaklawn Horse Racing. A 42 inch Roku TV is available as well as wifi added to the cabin for guests to enjoy. Please note we are a smoke free cabin and only allow smoking outside. We also love fur babies but have a strict no pets policy. Any violation of these rules by a renter will result in a minimum of a $500 fee upon their departure.

Summary: Cabin is located on a property with 2 others (although they are spaced out). However, it looks like they are planning to build another and this one very close to the cabin we stayed at. I don’t think I would have liked being that close to another cabin of someone were staying there. The cabin seems newer, very clean and modern. It says you can sleep 8, which you can bed wise, but I fear anymore than the 5 we had, and we’d be on top of one another in the living room and kitchen, as there isn’t much other space to sit and hang out. We had planned on going to the store and grabbing the food we wanted and cooking for the week. I’d suggest going into Hot Springs, as the local grocery is more expensive. Also, there’s a few necessary items for the kitchen we didn’t have. There wasn’t a pitcher, so we went and purchased one, or a muffin tin so we improvised. We didn’t have a sponge to clean dishes so we had to use a kitchen rag. No biggie, just some things to keep in mind when planning meals- you may not have all the kitchen essentials. Double check it before planning meals. The internet worked great. We were able to login to stream tv. The chairs pictured on the front porch were on the back porch when we arrived and seemed to be broken. So we weren’t able to use those. But there was a picnic table on the back as well as two replacement chairs in the front porch. All in all, the cabin is nice and a good location if you want to use it as a base camp!

Summary: We met friends from Houston, TX. This cabin was a perfect half-way reunion spot. We were met with a beautiful, clean and comfy cabin, just as described! It was a perfect setup for the 8 of us. We enjoyed the nearby activities, including a day on Lake Ouachita. Beautiful scenery!

Summary: We had a great stay in this cabin, it is very functional, in good conditions, very clean and seems like new. The Owners have given good attention to the details and all is very armonic and enjoyable. We stayed with my wife and 2 teenagers. The cabin has separate rooms making it very convinient for couples with kids. The location was great for us and our plans, it is located in the middle of the National Forrest and 20 to 30 minutes from all the areas of our interest between Hot Springs, mines, lakes, forrest and nice towns. It is certainly a good choice and we can make plans to comeback at any time.
