PARKING: There is room for up to 3 vehicles to park. Please note there is a wooden staircase leading down to the garage level and home.
CLIMATE CONTROL: Central heat and air!
CHECK-IN: Guests may check in with a code anytime after 4pm. Please note that past 10pm, our hosting team may not be reached as we are humans and we do sleep at night. We kindly ask that you check in before 10pm in case any issues arise.
MOBILITY: For our guests with mobility issues, there is a staircase from the parking area down to the home. We do not recommend the spiral stairs for those with mobility issues.
*All bathing towels and linens provided. PLEASE BRING SEPARATE TOWELS FOR LAKE USE.
LAKE USE:
-Swimming is allowed.
-Fishing is permitted (bring your poles!) with an Ohio fishing license.
-We do not have a boat slip available.
-Life vests, paddle boards, and pool noodles are available for use.
HOUSE RULES & POSSIBLE GUEST SURCHARGES
1. No pets allowed. We are animal lovers, but this is an animal free listing. If a pet is discovered on the property, a $250 fee plus damage will be charged, and the pet(s) must be removed immediately.
2. No smoking within 25 feet of the home. If our cleaners smell smoke inside the home, a $200 fee will be added to your stay. If you do smoke outdoors, please be thoughtful to discard all debris.
3. You must be over 25 to make a reservation.
4. Any outside visitors must be approved by hosts prior to arrival. Planning a party at this quiet property will result in an automatic $1,000 fine.
5. Swimming and lake use is at your own risk.
*The owners have a private, separate lower-level unit that they use occasionally on weekends. (think of it like a separate downstairs condo) There's a chance you may see them on the dock if they're around, but it shouldn't affect your stay. They're quiet and they'll give you all the privacy you desire!

Apple Valley Lake feels remote but conveniences like groceries and restaurants are all close by! We highly recommend the deep dish pizza from Dirko's!
NEIGHBORHOOD: This home is located in a quiet neighborhood on a private lake, and we do not allow parties or loud gatherings. It is very important to us that all our guests are respectful neighbors in terms of noise levels (music, noise, loud language, etc.). Quiet hours begin at 11pm for everyone's enjoyment.

Summary: As part of a biking trip on the Ohio/Erie bike trail we stayed at this cottage for a couple days. Is only about 4 miles off the trail. Nice neighborhood. Rental was well stocked and response by the host was prompt. The Yoders

Summary: Peaceful place, Quick responce from host for needs. The place is smaller than it appears but looks like the photos. The driveway down to the property is very steep,there is a parking pad for 3 cars. But you still need to get down to the house wooden stair way steep . So if you arent steady on your feet this isnt the place for you. Not a place for toddlers. But everyone else I would highly recommend yyou. Yong folks will be fine. Cant

Summary: We had family with us ranging in age from 8 - 81. The property was perfect. Everyone in our group had their own space and the view of the lake was gorgeous! A very short drive to Kenyon (and we were back and forth frequently). After long days of orientation it was so nice to come “home” to a little slice of paradise!

Summary: Very nice property. Ample seating outside, but not much on the inside. Two old ladies with us complained about the tv. The beds were not the best, foam king bed that seemed very worn on one side. It was nice, even tho we could not bring our dog.

Summary: This property sits right on beautiful Apple Valley Lake, and sitting down on the dock at sunset was a sublime experience. The main family room was our primary indoor setting, and made for a comfortable and open space for socializing and watching TV. The one challenge we had was a problem with the air conditioning, which was a significant issue given that it was 92 degrees outside and steamy inside the property as well. The thermostat appeared to have disconnected from the wifi, and attempts to reboot the router didn't change the situation - and then I didn't get a response from the owners. It's a great property, but wound disappointing us as a group because we wound up sleeping in a sauna. I'd highly recommend the house and the view is outstanding, but I'd rather go back when the temp outside is lower:).

Summary: We had a wonderful time! The kids loved roasting marshmallows and paddle boarding. The view was amazing and we had perfect weather! I wish we would have booked longer! We will definitely look for this property the next time we come back!
