Enjoy a stay at an iconic Mangawhai location. Formerly operating as a chocolate factory, now converted into a cosy, self contained cottage with stunning views towards the Mangawhai estuary, Little Barrier Island and the Hen and Chicken islands. A short distance to the Mangawhai village and its Saturday markets.
For the more active, some of the local attractions include bush walking, surfing, mountain biking or a round of golf at an international standard golf course. Enjoy some of the local quality restaurants and cafes and the local tavern which has a varied array of entertainment to suit all tastes.
For the shopaholics, there are a diverse and varied assortment of boutique stores operating in traditional shops and lots of obscure and interesting locations.
Pay a visit to the local museum and soak in the history of Mangawhai.
Spend some time at the Mangawhai Amusement Zone (MAZ), with its variety of kids entertainment, or meander along the many well sign posted and marked bush walks.
Our property is well positioned to enjoy all the local attractions, but for those that just wish to relax, you can soak in our hot tub, enjoy a swim in our large salt water swimming pool, have full use of a barbecue, WiFi, an array of books, board games, Freeview TV and DVDs all free to use. This combined with stunning views and a peaceful location will truly give you a holiday to remember.

Ideally suit a couple, with a double bed. Includes a full single bed as an option. This a large open plan style cottage. The main bedroom is walled off rather than a separate room, but living area is large with great views.
All linen and towels are provided. Tea and coffee also complimentary.

Summary: Jan and her partner has us 4 young ladies over the New Years 20/21 period. Absolutely great hosts, spoke briefly with them but they were incredibly welcoming and cheerful people. Just a short walk away to the main village as well as having a beautiful pool to soak in during the hot summer days was absolutely amazing. Would highly recommend staying here and will definitely want to come back for sure! Thank you Jan and Greg for this amazing stay, it is one to remember always!

Summary: Property was as advertised Quiet and peaceful but lots to do Hosts were very friendly and nothing was to much trouble. Wonderful week would go back without hesitation.

Summary: Great location close to village and so peacefully. Owners live on site and were friendly and helpfull and enjoyed a wine and chat with them on first night. Place was clean and tidy and extra touches like pool towels , milk in fridge and perk coffee available was a bonus that was appreciated. Will be back.

Summary: It’s not just the gorgeous peaceful bush setting with views out over the estuary, and the fabulously large saltwater swimming pool with diving board and hot tub that make this place the perfect holiday accommodation to relax and unwind, but also the amazing hosts, Jan and Greg! Jan and Greg are so welcoming and friendly and I really enjoyed the opportunity to catch up with them for a wine and chat in the evenings after a swim while the kids were cooking the BBQ. This was the perfect place for me and my three teenagers to explore the area in the mornings and then just chill back at the pool in the afternoons. Can’t rave enough about it and can’t wait to return.

Summary: We had such a lovely, peaceful time - everything we needed in the bach plus an incredible view, surrounded by bush and birds, use of the hot tub and so close to local amenities. We felt really at home but away from it all. Easy to find as well.
