In the South East of St. Margartes Bay is the small, picturesque fishing village which is still upheld by old traditional fishermen families dating back several generations, a very friendly and warm hearted people.
They still, to date, use the traditional lobster catching methods.
From the house terrace you can see the lighthouse which is also the landmark of Peggy`s Cove.
The cottage is the only hertitage home at Peggy`s Cove, the unique location of this beautiful home assures 360 ° undistributed view in all directions.
The cottage is sitting on 6 acres of private unspoiled rugged oceanfront property with over 3000 feet of shore line high on a point at the entrance to Peggy´s Cove overlooking all of Peggy´s Cove, but away from all the activity.
The house is itself detached an has a large veranda where You can enjoy the worlds greatest sunsets with a sundowner or just sit daily and observe the fishing boats bobbing arround on the Atlantic.
Peggy`s Cove is on the lighthouse route and is known far and wide. The little village is in the middle of a nature reserve and has over generations managed to keep its original character.
The cottage is close to several restaurants, shopping, walking trails, golf course. All this and only 40 minutes to downtown Halifax.
Ground floor: A spacious open plan living room/kitchen, a big living room a separat bedroom and the bath room.
First floor: A large east facing bedroom with a cosy reading niche with spectacular views of the wild Atlantic Ocean.
We speak Englisch and German. My wife Andrea also speaks Spanish

Summary: We enjoyed our stay in this property. It is a very charming historic property in a beautiful location. Rolf was very friendly and responsive, and took the time to point out where we could buy groceries nearby, and showed us all around the property when we checked in. Also invited us to come have coffee. A wonderful host. The kitchen had everything we needed, and there were beautiful views of the village and the water from the deck of the house. We were able to enjoy a beautiful sunset over the water from the deck one evening. We really enjoyed our time here.

Summary: Our family of four (2 adults and 2 teenagers) had a wonderful time at Rolf and Andrea's small piece of paradise at Peggy's Cove. The location of this cottage is truly incredible; perched high above the entry to Peggy's Cove makes for the ideal place to take in the breathtaking scenery, sunsets and sounds of the ocean. The rustic cottage is far enough away from the 'touristy spot of the cove that it provides you with the best of both worlds. It was a great base to venture out along Nova Scotia's south shore. Rolf and Andrea ensured we had everything we needed. Lots of history within the walls of the home, and I encourage you to engage with some of the locals to get a feel for what Peggy's Cove and the surrounding areas have to offer. Check-in and out process was straightforward, and Rolf was very quick to respond to any questions we had, a pleasure to deal with. The cottage is very spacious and has everything one could need for an extended stay. Highly recommend it for a tranquil setting with a piece of Canadian heritage.

Summary: This property is definitely a slice of heaven. The property is well maintained and has a unique look to it that you won't find anywhere else. Rolf and Andrea were so amazing to deal with and such a nice and wonderful couple who even invited us over for a cup of coffee before we left-definitely true Martimers! The view can't be beat. Sunsets each night, star gazing on the rocks and we even had a feathery friend who joined us each morning for a taste of our breakfast. Truly a unique Maritime experience not to be missed!

Summary: We had a great time during our 3-day stay! Rolf, the owner, was very kind, informative, accommodating and always reachable. The home is lovely and very clean and comfortable. The decor is nicely themed to reflect the history of the place and really takes you back in time. We greatly enjoyed sitting on the porch to watch the surf and sunsets! It was entertaining to watch the numerous visitors climbing on the rocks around the lighthouse. We felt so fortunate to be staying right in heart of Peggy's Cove but not in the middle of all the tourists. We were able to walk to the lighthouse in the morning before any other visitors arrived and take many beautiful pictures. We would love to stay again someday! Thank you very much, Rolf, for a wonderful and very memorable stay!

Summary: Property was just what we were looking for. Remote, on the ocean with a great view. Hurricane limited us to one night, but you couldn't tell one had gone thru as property was in great shape. If we had been able to get in sooner, all thats missing is some deck chairs and a fireplace.
