Positive: This was definitely our highlight stay of our 3 week trip of Japan. Our host yuki welcomed us warmly and curious about our trip. She helped us with recommendations and logistics, making our adventure in Yakushima be smooth and unforgettable! Our room was spacious, very clean and comfy, the perfect base to start our day trips by car. We were delighted to try the menu of the house both for breakfast, lunchbox and dinner, a blend of local ingredients and japanese cuisine. (Our favourites were the flying fish sashimi and the wine stew beef, and the smoothies with home grown island fruits) We’re looking forward to our next stay at Blue Drop!

Positive: The property was very nice and very clean. My partner and I got around Yakushima VIA a car that the owner helped us book, which was super helpful! We were able to request a pick-up and drop-off location. One thing to note about Yakushima is that the restaurants seem to often be reservation only. At first, I didn't think this was much of an issue and that we'd go to non-reservation restaurants, but this turned out to be very difficult. We ultimately asked the owner for help making reservations. Super thankful for that! They called many times but the restaurant didn't answer the phone until much later. Pension Blue Drop's location is a bit out of the way, but with a car it is no problem! It takes about 20-30 mins or so to get to anywhere you want to get to (max 45 min). We would definitely stay again if we find ourselves wanting to go to Yakushima again :)

Positive: An absolutely wonderful experience, made exceptional by our hostess Yuki. The most helpful, thoughtful and knowledgeable hostess we have ever come across. She truly exceeded expectations in all respects. The place itself was large and comfortable and the food 5-star!

Positive: The hosts were amazing helping arranging car rental, even though we were late with booking. Delicious homemade meals made with local produce giving a real taste of Yakushima. The location was really great with things to explore and experience in both directions from the pension. The house was beautiful, and there was really nice glass art and drawings made by Yuki (host) through out the pension. The hosts were eager to share tips about things to do, depending on the weather. We have nothing negative to say about this gem in Yakushima. 10/10!
