Summary: It was unfortunate that we had chosen to come to this beautiful island during the Covid turbulence. The Government's valiant and necessary attempt to stem the spreading of the virus by imposing a long spell of complete lockdown made it impossible to enjoy all the attractions the island has to offer. Our 4 month stay at El Sol Sureno would have been miserable if it had not been for the location and the facility the condo has to offer. The accommodation is spacious with 2 large balconies. Our view from the main balcony is of the putting greens of the 9th and 18th holes, with a wide view of the ocean on the horizon. Not only is the view's beauty second to none, but it also kept us entertained watching various golfers fighting through their efforts & agonies. We are not golfers, but are grateful that we found ourselves in such a spacious, beautiful, serene, but very lively at times location under the difficult & restricted circumstances. We were able to keep fit by walking daily. All the golfers are so good-natured and friendly, that they did not mind us roaming around the paths. It is also very convenient to have the club house just yards away. It took the pressure away from daily cooking. It really is a golfer's paradise. Debra and Peter worked hard to accommodate us with all our additional requirements to make us feel at home and comfortable. The weekly house-keeping was wonderful and most appreciated by us. June kept the place so clean and tidy we wanted to pack her in one of our suitcases and take her home with us. Barbados is a fascinating island with lovely, friendly people. It has many great restaurants, many of which we never had a chance to enjoy. Amongst those we have tried, Sunday lunch of roast beef and Yorkshire pudding at The Lone Star is a must. We would like to have the opportunity to return and do justice to this island when the virus is eradicated and life goes back to normal - if ever! Our overall 4 star rating, which would be 4.5 if it was offered, reflects the fact that the condo is not fully air-conditioned, which at times meant that we were rather hot in the kitchen and living room.

Summary: We have extended our stay for a further 3 months, so this is too early to give a full review. Generally we are very happy here. Upon arrival, there were a few items needing repairs, some of which were quickly fixed and the balance should be fixed shortly. We like the fact that we are part of a small condo complex. The golf club restaurant and bar is a few steps away and is extremely convenient. We walk regularly around the beautiful golf course, full of friendly golfers. Our view is of the golf course with the ocean on the horizon is second to none. The management provides weekly cleaning, keeps us up to date with the Covid alerts and advises us of stores and even a doctor to visit, which makes a big difference when you are a stranger to the community.

Summary: Have just returned from a months stay in this apartment. There are great views from the balconies and the apartment itself is comfortable with everything you need. Debra and Peter couldn't have been more helpful and when we had issues with the freezer it was dealt with immediately. Both bedrooms had aircon and ceiling fans so sleeping was comfortable. The only issues were the early wake up calls from the resident cockerels and the green keepers out o the course from about 6am. We wear earplugs at night so didn't really worry us and its the price you pay for being in such a lovely location. The apartment was cleaned thoroughly weekly and there are plenty of towels to use both in the apartment and at the pool. The washing machine does a 30 minute wash and clothes dry very quickly so you can keep luggage at a minimum. Comfortable sun beds by the pool were a real bonus and the gardens and pool area are immaculate. It's great to walk or run in the mornings using the pathways around the course and there is free access to the putting green and driving range. A twilight round of golf (tee off 3pm onwards) worked out at about £62 including a buggy. If you buy a package of 5 daytime rounds it worked out approx. £76 a round. We spent alot of time watching the golfers come down both he 9th and 18th holes as there are clear views from the properties balcony especially the water hazard which made for interesting viewing. The golf clubhouse is literally yards away and very good for lunch or a drink but not noisy and closes about 7pm. It's close to a bus stop and the main road giving access to the local town and south coast. If you want to travel throughout the island you would benefit from a car. We liked being away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas. The other residents and visitors were really friendly and were able to answer any questions we had about the area. If you want to explore the island, enjoy some golf or just relax by a pool this apartment fits the bill. We'll be back!!
