This cute fishing cabin has the US Forest Service 'Green Cottage Access Site' named after it. It is located on over a mile of private riverfront land in the middle of the 'Flies Only - Catch and Release' section of the Pere Marquette River. Right next door is its bigger brother: 'Red Cabin'. Come to fish, kayak, canoe or just relax on the deck overlooking the river. Kayak, canoe rentals, and grocery store just a mile away.
You will have access to the entire 80 acres to hike, fish or just relax. The cabin, built in the 1930's, has been written up in many fly fishing books as one of the best fly fishing areas for natural reproducing German Brown Trout, Steelhead and of course the Fall Salmon run. No phones, air conditioning or internet - just peace and quiet 'river time'. While not fancy, its location on the river is second to none. A perfect place if you enjoy the river and outdoors.

Summary: Had a wonderful few days at Maggies with my 2 teen sons. It s nice property, comfortable, clean and updated. The hosts were great as well. Very responsive and welcoming. Plenty of wildlife in the area. Deer and wild turkeys every day right outside. Very close to fishing. Walking distance to Wakely bridge access.

Summary: The cottage is amazingly situated on the Pere Marquette River. Nothing beats the view from the living room windows onto the river right outside the cottage. If you are a fly fisherman/woman, this is the place to be! The only disappointing moment was the lack of deep cleaning in the cottage. Beds and kitchen counter were clean, though. Loved the range of dishes and appliances in the kitchen, very convenient but I would wash them before use.

Summary: Truly amazing property. Right on the river, as close as you can be. Great water to fish right out your back door. Steelhead salmon and trout in under a minute after lacing up your wading boots. We had fun!!

Summary: Views were amazing. Cottage itself had everything we needed. The property was well-kept and the cottage was very clean. Another nice surprise was how close ‘civilization’ was if you needed gas, groceries, etc. Hosts were quick to respond to questions. Plenty of great fishing holes on the property and on the neighboring public land. Green cottage exceeded our expectations and we hope to return soon.

Summary: We have always wondered what it would be like to stay at the famed “Green Cottage” & we finally got a chance to stay & it went way beyond our expectations! Very clean! The living area was awesome! Very relaxing! & with the view of the Pere Marquette River just priceless! The kitchen is stocked with pretty much all you could need to prepare or serve for your food or beverages. The beds were comfortable & bathroom had all the you needed as well. We enjoyed grilling on the deck & having a fire in the fire pit our last night there. Did some fly fishing which have done for years & really glad we stayed here! We look forward to planning another trip!
