WELCOME!!
Our lakefront family home is on quiet Sechrist Lake, perfect for fishing, swimming, and paddle boarding. Sechrist is one of seven lakes on the Barbee chain, each with its own specialty: Big Barbee is great for jet skis and wake boarding, Irish is known for fishing and sailing, warm water Banning is a nice place to swim, Kuhn has a giant sandbar, Little Barbee has many fishing spots, and Sawmill is the starting place for kayak adventures down Grassy Creek.
Check-ins are Sun at 4pm and check out is 11am any day of the week. We have 5 night minimum and 10 night maximum. You're gonna want to stay longer, but we have to share!
LIVING AREAS
There are two large rooms on the 1st floor, each with plenty of seating:
- The Sun Room faces the lake with three picture windows. It has a couch and chairs for the adults and a craft table and chalk wall for the kids.
- The Living Room has bay windows overlooking the back yard. It has an leather couch + loveseat, wood-burning stove, and smart TV.
The kitchen has an island that seats 2 and a pub table which seats 6. It has a sliding glass door that opens to a large deck near the water. Toaster, coffee maker, blender, pots, Pyrex dishes, and other cooking essentials are provided. We offer paper plates, plastic cups, and utensils because you shouldn't have to do dishes on vacation.
On days when you're indoors, we have plenty of puzzles, games, & books, faster internet, plus a smart HDTV.
BEDROOMS
1st bedroom: Master bedroom has a queen bed, dresser, and half bath. It has a sliding glass door that opens to a second-story balcony facing the lake.
2nd bedroom: Twin-sized bunk beds and a dresser. It has a sliding glass door that opens to a second-story balcony facing the lake.
3rd bedroom: Double bed with a chair and a small nook perfectly sized for a pack-and-play.
4th bedroom: Queen-sized bed on the main floor with a dresser. It faces the lake with three large windows.
There are extra pillows & blankets in each bedroom. Just bring your sheets and towels.
OUTDOORS
Our large deck easily seats the whole family and is steps away from the water.
The swimming area has a pea gravel bottom and is shallow enough for children to safely play. We have a small beach to launch kayaks or build a sand castle. We provide 2 stand-up paddle boards and paddles! Life vests in a variety sizes and water toys are in the deck box.
We have a wooden pier where you can dock a boat and a vinyl pier that’s perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning. Piers are typically in by mid-May and out mid-October, weather permitting. Boat rentals are available at the local marina, or bring your own! There are private and public boat launches nearby.

- Unfortunately, no. We need time to get everything ready for you.

- We're sorry, no. We need time to clean up for our next guests.
Do you have a washer and dryer or dishwasher?
- No we don't and wish we did. The original owner never had them and now the county says we're too low to the water table to add them. There is a laundromat in nearby North Webster you can use in a pinch. We provide disposable cups, plates, and utensils instead.

Summary: We LOVE this cottage! For several years we've been on the hunt for the perfect-to-us lake spot for our annual girls trip. We think we found it in Willow Beach and we've already booked again for next year! The pictures don't really do it justice. The whole place is adorable! This cottage is so clean. After reading the other reviews, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the kitchen is actually pretty well stocked (minus plates/silverware). Wifi signal is decent, A/C is awesome & there are fans in each bedroom. Furniture is super comfortable. The best part is that the lake between the 2 docks has a fine-gravel floor. The water is so clear and competely weed-free. Perfect for swimming & lounging on rafts. It was the decision-maker for us! The section on the other side has plenty of growth with strong biodiversity, making for a really clean lake. It's the best of both worlds & the owners have done a fabulous job maintaining it. They were also incredible hosts... kind, accomodating & responsive. Even the surrounding area has the quintessential "lake community" feel. We loved the new Lakelife Bar & Grill just around the corner. Overall it was the perfect little get away. Notes: - As others mention, the cottage only has disposable plates/silverware. We were aware in advance and brought our own (as well as a few other essentials we knew we'd need for dinners). - Adirondacks are the only outdoor seating. They're great for lounging but aren't very functional and can be hard to get in and out of if you're older. It's such a great outdoor space and so we brought a card table & chairs so we could play games and eat on the deck. - Watch for the yard guy. He pops up unexpectedly and sprays you with grass without warning. It makes no difference if you're sleeping in your raft in the water or not. 😉 He does several yards at once and so every time you think he's done, he pops up again with a new tool & does it again. At one point he blew our stuff into the lake with the leaf blower. Made for some good stories & laughs- so just a heads up. Nice enough guy but it seemed social awareness maybe isn't really his jam, lol. He has a job to do and he's here for it! ;)

Summary: We had a great time at this property! Access to the lake is fantastic and the deck and balcony were lovely to sit on and watch the boats go by. The kitchen is well stocked with the many things you might need in a kitchen. The layout of the house is fantastic as well. The house was also walking distance to the marina which was nice because we rented a pontoon. The owner buried little treasure boxes in the sand area for our 5 year old which was such a special treat for him! The only downside is that there are windows higher on the walls in the upstairs bedrooms that don’t have curtains. This could be problematic for guests who enjoy sleeping in or have little kids who need to go to bed earlier and not wake up at literally the crack of dawn. Other than that, this house lives up to its reviews and we would highly recommend it!

Summary: We loved our stay! The house had everything we needed and the beds were comfy. We had our 91 yr old grandma with us and she was able to sit in the shade on the deck while we floated and still be apart of the family. We highly recommend and will be coming back!
