Summary: This place is perfectly located for everything you want to do. The host had a binder of places to go and places to eat with recommendations. They supplied tons of snacks and drinks which was a great surprise! I loved all the local history books. It was super clean and they thought of everything you might need.

Summary: We had a wonderful time. Nelson is a wonderful host. This was originally supposed to be our Christmas vacation but he accommodated a reschedule due to my concerns of the weather. This process was seamless. The home is charming and cozy with all the amenities needed. The bedrooms were welcoming and comfortable. We traveled with our toddlers and Nelson made sure they had snacks, books and toys to play with as well as a pack n play for my youngest. We will definitely return. Our only concern was that it was a little dusty but like I mentioned the home was stocked up with all amenities to clean, cook and laundry. I would highly recommend if you want a relaxing get away from the city.

Summary: Nelson’s property is a great place to stay for a winter getaway. And winter is the best time to go to this area of Texas. The weather was perfect and the crowds small. We stayed at Nelson’s house for two nights between Christmas and New Years 2022. First day, after a leisurely morning at the house we drove 10 minutes to Fossil Rim Wildlife Refuge arriving around 10:30. It was a cool day, and all the animals were out but be careful – the Ostrich that meets you when you drive through the gate ate all our food. And an insider tip…the park’s petting zoo is free and IMHO the best part. Make sure you take to the two short walking trails from the petting zoo. Only way to see the coyote and the upper trail has a reading nook at the halfway point. We went back to the house for lunch and then took a trip to Granbury, 20 minutes, to catch a movie and walk the downtown Christmas light trail. Back home for a quiet night in comfortable beds. Second day my 5-year-old grandson and I went to Big Rocks Park just down the street and walked the sidewalk trail by the Paluxy River. We then drove 10 minutes to Dinosaur World, and headed back to the Denton, TX with a stop in Cleburne for lunch at a Mexican restaurant. Another insider tip – if panning for crystals at Dinosaur World look around the fence, you may find more there than in the bag you buy. Both the house and host were great! We were a grandparent couple with two grandchildren ages 5 and 10. The house fit us perfectly and the table games Nelson provide were fun and new to all of us. The house was fully stocked with treats and emergency meals which we took advantage of. Nelson was the perfect host, prompt with any question or need we had. Highly recommend and may stay there again with another group of grandkids.

Summary: This house was perfect for a girl's weekend in Glen Rose! The house is stocked with everything needed in the kitchen and plenty of towels, plus basic toiletries! The screened in porch was perfect for a rainy evening. Conveniently located near restaurants, shopping and the grocery store. Working with the owner was a true pleasure as he was responsive, kind and very helpful. My girlfriends and I all agreed we will definitely be returning to this property!

Summary: This was a perfect family getaway. We were able to unwind, disconnect from the world and even save on gas and walk pretty much everywhere. Loved the property location, very clean, very comfy, and the property manager was easily accessible and very helpful and accommodating. Appreciated the extras he had in the house. Games to play on the table, snacks available after a long day of exploring. Big rocks was also within walking distance. We explored all the hot spots and had a nice place to come back home to. Def recommend.

Summary: Stayed here and other properties owned by Nelson. Always spotless and well stocked. We have never had any problems or issues with any of his properties. Always a pleasure to stay there. Can highly recommend any of his beautiful properties. Glen Rose is a great little getaway.

Summary: My sister and I recently took our mom away for the weekend and rented Nelson’s cottage. You can’t go wrong with this one!! He emailed detailed “welcome” instructions and things to do which was so helpful. The house is clean, accommodating and a great location to everything. They have it well stocked with snacks and necessities. We enjoyed the town but spent as much time just hanging at the house playing games and talking. Perfect rental for a girls weekend, a couple’s weekend or a quick getaway with a family of 3-4. Thanks for letting us stay there. We will be back!!!

Summary: My husband and I just spent the weekend here and really enjoyed it. The house was clean, had everything we needed, and was located only minutes from most restaurants and activities in Glen Rose. We spent two days hiking in Dinosaur Valley State Park and this was a perfect location for us. We really appreciated all the additional drinks and snacks the host made available to us.
