What Our Guests say 500 + Reviews

Summary: We chose this horse due to the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, ideal for a large group. We had 3 couples and one single adult (over age 80); what we didn’t realize was that with 4 bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs- there are two full baths downstairs and two upstairs. Not a big deal, but that meant that for our group one bedroom had to use the downstairs bathroom. The family room has been updated with a new sofa and love seat. Everyone agreed the beds were comfortable. We enjoyed being able to gather around the table in the dining room for dinner since it seats so many. Also loved being able to sit out back around the grass fire pit. If there were any feedback we’d offer, it’s just regarding the lighting. As another guest mentioned, the light switches are a little confusing and the house is pretty dark due to outdoor foliage close to the house and use of multiple small lamps for lighting. Our over 80yo mother loved the antique decor and we all appreciated the spaciousness of the rooms. Water pressure and hot water worked great for a group of seven. Columbia is a beautiful quaint town with the downtown area a short one mile walk away.

Summary: We really enjoyed staying here! The layout and bedrooms were ideal for or group with a mix of singles and couples. We enjoyed being walking distance from downtown. The large backyard space was wonderful and there were a nice variety of indoor spaces. (The screened porch in particular was really lovely.) The owner was also very accommodating when we had to return after check out to pick up an item we forgot. Do be advised that shampoo was not included (despite being mentioned in the listing.)

Summary: Our family ( 2 seniors and 4 30-somethings) enjoyed a long weekend in Columbia, PA. The house was very clean and so roomy, with 5 comfortable bedroom and 4 bathrooms. The kitchen was well stocked. There were several places to enjoy each other ‘s company: the living room, the backyard, and the screened porch. The weather was very hot and humid with thunderstorms, so it was Mother Nature’s fault that we couldn’t sit outside as much as we’d hoped. Columbia itself had a couple of great breweries and casual restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed the Watch and Clock Museum in Columbia! Columbia (and the community across the river) make good use of the riverfront with River Centers, outfitters, kayak put-in spots, a Heritage Center and a boat tour. Very community oriented! Hershey was a short drive down the road. Chocolate World was an experience! Amish Country was also nearby and we enjoyed the covered bridges, the bakeries and the quilt shop. Gettysburg was about an hour’s drive and worth it. Our hosts were easy to communicate with and very available to us. A perfect spot for our family vacation, with something for everyone!

Summary: The house was spacious and quite comfortable although with some rough edges and in need of updating. The bedrooms were roomy with very nice beds and plenty of bathrooms. The living area and kitchen were adequate (although short on spoons and plates) and a large dining room can seat a crowd. The porch and outside spaces were functional although somewhat unkept. The driveway is large allowing for off street parking. The location was a short drive into town and to the grocery store. It was disappointing that the information book was empty. Overall we enjoyed our stay, and the house worked well for our family gathering.

Summary: Really, really nice home!!! It’s an older home but excellently maintained in a really great neighborhood. The light switches really were a hoot and a half, and provided a source of amusement for us. There were a lot of great restaurants within 2 miles of the house. I would highly recommend this staying here.
