. Cancon is the capital of the hazelnut .The prunes, duck nothing but good things for gourmets in our region, and wines of course.

Ideal for 6 people, but possibility to put a cot in the larger room
We stay in the basement during your stay.
We have no view of the rental, the entrance is different, our cars are parked in our wood so you do not hear us entering or leaving.
We'll see you on arrival and departure.

Summary: The house is gorgeous, very roomy and comfortable. The pool and outside kitchen are perfect for a family, with a lovely quiet garden at the back. Veronique and Jacques are lovely hosts very friendly and helpful. The tomatoes, growing in the garden which we were invited to eat are absolutely delicious. The kitchen is well equipped and there is lots of comfortable seating. There is a beautiful lake at Lougratte about 5 mins away, where there is also a boulangerie with fresh bread and cheese and an Intermarche supermarket off the N21 about 9km away - all very easy to get to. There is a pharmacy in Cancon. The countryside is beautiful and the house is in a lovely location. The night sky is amazing - remarkable light as the sun goes down and a sky full of stars. A fantastic location.

Summary: We really enjoyed our 2 weeks here this August, the house and garden were lovely, fully furnished with all necessities*. The house is set in beautiful rolling rural countryside, surrounded by farms, but is near to a variety of small medieval villages, and there always seems to be a market on somewhere locally. The property is well maintained, and the pool and summer kitchen are a bonus - not forgetting the petanque court, which hosted several family tournaments during our stay. Vero and Jacques are lovely owners - they’re really welcoming, always willing to help with questions and ideas, yet extremely discreet - if you’re concerned about overbearing onsite owners, you needn’t be, they’re the very opposite. Whilst they do speak a little English, they insist they don’t, so that’s worth bearing in mind if if your French isn’t terribly good. All in all, a lovely holiday, in a lovely house, in a lovely area. We would definitely recommend this as a place to stay. *one slight negative - the owners have a policy of not providing towels (other than for washing up). This means bringing your own with you, which is not such an issue when travelling by car, but when coming by public transport makes packing a bit more complicated.
