The house is situated in the small village of Valros in the south of France, between Béziers and Pézenas, in the department of Hérault. The distance to the sea with fine sandy beaches is about 20 km and can easily be reached via recently built highways. The house (a former winegrower's house) was built around 1900 and is beautifully integrated into the village. In contrast to many village houses, this house is free-standing with a garden plot of about 200 m² and an equally large courtyard (e.g. suitable for playing pétanque). The house has recently been completely renovated. In and around the house there are many games - and space is also available. With the bicycles you can explore the area. Valros is an pleasant village in a rural environment. However, the necessary infrastructure is available. All shops of the daily need like baker, magazine shop and a small supermarket are attainable by foot in few minutes.
Possible excursions: Short excursion to the ruin 'Tour' in Valros, great view over the huge wine region, the village Valros, into the mountains, the historical town Pézenas - town of Molière - is only 7 km away; different seaside resorts (Cap d'Agde, Valras-Plage, Mèze au Etang, Marseillan-Plage, Sète and many more) are easy to reach, St. Guilhem-le-Désert: an approx. 40 km from Valros, a picturesque village in a small valley, close to the Clamouse caves and the historic Pont diable bridge; Lac de Salagou and Cirque de Mourèze: a beautiful lake in the foothills; the picturesque towns of Montpellier and Béziers are ideal for a full day excursion; rafting, kayaking and hydrospeed boat trips can be made on the Hérault river near St Guilhem-le-Désert; the Canal du Midi is only 20 km away; boat trips can be made on the Canal du Midi.
Sport offers: Sports in and around the village: tennis, football, pétanque, hiking, cycling (with our bicycles), horse riding (a Centre Equestre is located in the village and another, a larger one about eight kilometres away), golf (the nearest golf course is about five kilometres away), ping pong and of course jogging between in the vineyards.
Wind surfboard: Windsurfing enthusiasts can take our surfboard with them to the beach. For beginners we recommend the surf instruction for beginners, which is available in the house. This should enable you to learn surfing autodidactically. Beginners are advised not to start surfing immediately in the sea because of the waves. The Lac de Salagou (about 30 km from Valros), which is also very attractive from a scenic point of view, has proven to be very suitable in this respect. In the summer there are always a lot of surfers (who can also give you tips for surfing and setting up).
