Pleasant and comfortable stone-built house on a vast closed garden. Located at 100 m of the edge of Yonne in a small village close to the medieval city of Clamecy (3 km), regional park of Morvan (15 km) and Vezelay (20 km).
Stay great volume with chimney, American kitchen. In Rez-of-fitted, a renovated room this year with a double bed and an also renovated room this year with two simple beds. On the floor, a mezzanine with a simple bed and a vast room with a bed doubles and a simple bed. Two bathrooms and two independent WC.
Barbecue, table and garden chairs, long chairs. Possibility of renting 2 bicycles (20€ per week).

Summary: The house was really nice and all the supplies you need in the kitchen are available. The fireplace is very cosy for colder evenings. The big garden is great for outside breakfasts and dinners. The upstairs shower is for short people only, we all used the downstairs bathroom which was fine.

Summary: We were greeted by Mme Berson in a very friendly manner and she showed us the facilities available in the accommodation. The cottage more that met our expectations, being very comfortable and clean. The location was ideal for our requirements and there were lots of interesting places to visit in the surrounding region. We also liked the fact that we were able to book from Tuesday to Tuesday rather than at the weekend. We would recommend this property to anyone looking for a quiet, peaceful getaway holiday.

Summary: Have never stayed in a village before and fortunately this gite is on a 'voie sans issus' and remarkably quiet. Also it has a pleasant garden as a 'view' with the bonus of the neighbour's goats to watch at the back. The property takes a lot of people but is small enough to feel cosy and with two bedrooms, bathroom and loo on the ground floor is ideal for oldies like us. Lots to see in the surrounding very lovely countryside and the drive to Auxerre is well worth it. Well appointed and comfortable and at this time of year good value for money. Bob and Lynne.

Summary: "Very charming cottage on the edge of a small village. Quiet surrounding and nice walking possibilities along the nearby canal and the river. The house has an authentic atmosphere, is nicely decorated, comfortable and spacious."

Summary: "A delightful old cottage in a quiet location, well off the main road and not far from the charming old town of Clamecy (just over a mile away) with its beautiful canal and church. The cottage is situated in its own spacious grounds with excellent secure parking on the premises (substantial lockable iron gates at the entrance and lock-up garage adjoining the property if required). There is a large log fire (with logs), but we find that the excellent central heating is all that we need - the log fire should be very cosy in winter however. There are no shops in Armes, but the baker's van calls daily at about 9:00 am and there are several good supermarkets in Clamecy (Leclerc, Auchan, Aldi). Refuse is collected 3 times a week in re-cycle containers. The owner has been very prompt and most helpful in responding to our few requests, and he replies to emails quickly. Although the owner does not live in the area, his representative, who lives nearby, is also most helpful and is always on hand should any problems arise. It is very reassuring to know that someone is always there if needed. We first rented this cottage 2 years ago and were so pleased with it that we have returned twice-yearly ever since, and will continue to do so on a regular basis. The cottage is located in a beautiful part of Burgundy and is ideal for day trips around the area. We therefore have no hesitation in recommending this property."
