Summary: I have a home down the block from the rental property which was the site of a family reunion. Three working adults and one retired stayed at the house only to sleep; the working adults worked on their computers during the day as well. All dinners and socializing took place at my home. The house was fine for this. Imagine my surprise when with no prior notice I received an email saying that $100 was deducted from the damage deposit for a broken cue stick (the pool table is front and center in the living room) When I left a message that our group had never even used the pool table or any of the other facilities as we gathered down the road at my house, the real estate agent replied that someone had used a great deal of force to break it. I did not appreciate in any way the lack of communication and assumption of guilt. In fact what happened was that a prior tenant had propped the broken cue stick up in the corner so it appeared fine. One of our people picked up the cue stick and it broke in his hand. He laid it on the pool table instead of propping it back up in the corner. The response of the agent was that we still had to pay because we didn't alert them to the fact that it was broken. I am glad the owner now has a new cue stick. I did not appreciate the unilateral way in which I was forced to pay for it.

Summary: We stayed with my 4 sons, 18, 18, 21, and 23. Plenty of rooms and beds for us all. The pool table was a hit. We used the bikes and kayaks. And there were plenty of games in the shed and it the house. Jeanne, the real estate person was very responsive. I would totally recommend the home to any one looking for a get away.

Summary: The house was fantastic! Great location, comfortable for the 5 adults, but would be tight for more, unless lot's of kids and couples. Pool table was wonderful, deck and grill fantastic. Fire pit relaxing. On our departure day, we had to face down a buck to get to our cars, but the nature was great. We watched football on both days on the large screen, made great breakfasts and dinner in the well equipped kitchen. Only property negative is that the front yard is but a very large septic mound, but backyard makes up for it. Now for the negative. We reserved a month in advance, but the property manager couldn't answer the basic question of whether the TV would receive 2, 4, 5, and 7 so we could watch football and took over a week to answer, showing no understanding of why this mattered, then rushed us to sign a lease and submit info on all our cars in less than 24 hours, just 5 days before arrival, then informed us that the listing and lease were wrong about linens and towels and we had to bring our own. There was very little instruction about entering or exiting and when we arrived there was no water service and hot water, as the breakers were off. Thankfully, one of the guys was a plumber. We didn't let us discourage us, but the owner should get someone better.

Summary: The house was perfect for a long weekend with more than enough room for our smaller groups first trip into the Poconos. Found good hiking trails nearby and it was great to come back and relax on the deck and around the fire pit in back. Definitely stay here again if we make another trip.

Summary: The house was incredibly clean and cozy. This time of the year is very cold in this area, but the house was so warm and comfy you wouldn't even notice! The heating system was easy to navigate and quickly warmed up the house. There is a charming fireplace in the living room that also helps to keep the house nice an warm in the cold fall/winter months. All of the appliances are modern and up to date, perfect to host a family gathering or a weekend event. My group was able to cook all of our meals with no problem. The bathrooms were clean and orderly and we never had a problem with hot water, even with a large group. The location was also great, as there was a lovely Amish market nearby and a lake for kayaking/canoeing a short distance away. If you or anyone in your group ever forgot anything, larger convenience stores such as walmart is a short driving distance. Our group was able to take nice long walks on the main road where we felt safe and secured. Special tags are provided to visitors to ensure this gated area was monitored. There was always police/guards patrolling the area, making my group feel safe to wander and explore whenever we wanted to. Best of all the owners are amazing and made sure the house was spotless upon arrival. They were extremely accommodating and made sure all of my guests were comfortable. We will definitly return for our next retreat!
