2 Bedroom House in Adelaide, Adelaide Village

Our Pomelo Bay beach front property sets the scene for an amazing vacation on the island of Nassau, Bahamas. Experience breath-taking sunrise and sunsets each day, and feel the white sands under your toes as you walk out to the beach and enjoy paradise untouched, and swim to your heart’s delight.
Our private Pomelo Bay property, located on the south-western part of Nassau is only 20 minutes from the International Airport, in Adelaide Village, known as the last true “old town” where you can experience life on the island in it’s most authentic fashion; safe, quiet, away-from-it-all, island feel. Friendly neighbors, modern and old homes mixed together in a community like no other on New Providence, close to the beach, lakes and nature, and far away from everything else!
Our property boasts 3 modern condo homes overlooking the coral harbour beach and harbour. While looking at the waterfront, our town sits between the famous Royal Bahamas Defence Force base to the left, and the multimillion dollar Albany Resort, with homes of rich and famous to the right.
Our Pomelo Bay North and South condos are brand new, and include modern furniture and appliances, air conditioned and amenities like cable TV, Internet, washer & dryer, and private parking in a gated property. We also have a wonderful private property just on the other side of the street which sits on a surreal lake front, and is protected by UNESCO. It has a cabana and dock, perfect for relaxing afternoons and great fishing.
You will need a car or taxi service while staying with us as we are far away from public transport and access to the closest stores, restaurants and the rest of the island is at least 15 minutes away by car. It’s one of the things that makes us such a great vacation spot for those that want to truly get-away from it all, no mega resorts, no shopping malls, no noisy cars and trucks passing by every few minutes, just, clean, quiet, island life on the beach.
The neighborhood is great for walking. The birdwatching and fishing on the lakefront at the other side of our property is astounding. And walking along the neighborhood to check out other beaches, the old houses, little community stores, churches and parks will give you an instant connection to life in The Bahamas before all the modern hotels and resorts.
Access to the rest of the island starts with a 20 minute ride to the shopping centers, restaurants, bars, banks and world famous Cable Beach district with all of its tourist attractions so you get the best of both worlds.
You will absolutely enjoy your time with us.
The smart thermostat is an energy saver for the air conditioner which helps us to keep the cost of rental affordable by assisting with regulating inefficient use of the air conditioner. It is located in the master bedroom on the side of the night stand. And also in the living room on the side table below the air conditioner.

Summary: Pomelo is an amazing property—simple and beautiful with the ocean in your backyard. Kayaks, paddle board, and snorkeling are there for you to enjoy. Quiet walks on the beach where we met locals plus a few very friendly dogs. Averys the restaurant is a great local place to get the best of Bahamian food. Such a wonderful place away from the crowds. You will need a car. Close to jaws beach and the Clifton heritage park. Very very special.

Summary: My wife and I stayed with our twin 14 year old daughters from March 25 - 30. When we arrived we were a little concerned but by our first full day it was great. You have to drive through Adelaide Village to get to the property. Adelaide Village is a poor community and the street to the unit has a number of properties that have been damaged by past hurricanes and in the process of being repaired. The location on the beach is really nice. The water is shallow and mostly sandy (There are some areas with coral that we avoided). During low tide you can walk out well over 100 yards with the water 3' to 4' deep. The condition of the unit was a 7 on a scale of 10. The tile floor in the kitchen had at least two tiles that were cracked and loose so every time you stepped on them they would move. I am sure it is hard to keep up with maintenance. They had chairs that we took to the beach everyday along with floaties. The chairs and floaties had seen their better days but worked. Beach towels and bath towels were in the unit. 5 gallon water dispenser was very nice since we brought our own insulated water bottles. We had the beach to ourselves. There were a couple locals that we met and got some local knowledge. We explored the entire island with a rental car and it was our opinion that Adelaide Beach ranked up there with the other beaches on the north side of the island with no crowds from the resorts or cruise ships. Snorkeled up and down the beach. There was an area to the west where the yachts came and went from the Albany resort that had a man made stone barrier and also a very deep section (which I was told about later) that was probably the best place. While snorkeling I saw a total of 5 stingrays other fish, star fish, "live" conch shells. I was glad we took the chance and stayed here instead of a hotel/resort on the north side of the island. We got to experience more of what the Bahamas have to offer compared to the areas set up for tourists. Food is expensive. Flying Southwest Airlines and getting free checked bags, we packed one suitcase with food to minimize what we had to buy when we got there. Did not have one lunch or dinner at a restaurant for less than $100. An outdoor grill would make a great addition to the unit. We always felt safe and will consider a return visit sometime in the future. The overall experience for a family vacation was 10 out of 10.

Summary: Pomelo North provides its guests with beautiful seascapes, gorgeous sunsets, and a very private beach stretching for miles. The condo provides all necessary amenities, although the showers were a bit tight. Bed was comfy, and had lots of towels for bath and beach. If I could add one thing to the kitchen, it would be a cookie sheet for the oven, but I understand that most people probably are not there for a long stay and don't even use the oven. Travellers should be aware that it is a very expensive island. We shopped at Solomons Fresh Market because it was the most like home, but cost was double what we would normally pay. Rent a car from Virgo ( not the airport) because its a third of the cost. We felt very safe and everyone was very friendly - especially the lady who lives next door. She brought us fresh Papaya in the morning and cooked us lobster and snapper. We feel we have found a new friend for life. Loved walking down the beach to the Albany Marina to watch the Yachts come and go. Rented paddle boards for a week from Pappa Surf (who delivered) and gave us excellent service. Bridgette was very helpful in planning a day trip for us to Lagoon Island for a Dolphin excursion. Unforgettable. If you have any questions or concerns, just send a quick message and management answers quickly. All in all, a wonderful, relaxing , quiet piece of paradise. Until next time....

Summary: ´´ Pomelo North was wonderful. My family (3 older kids and a 9 year-old) enjoyed the accommodations very much. Clean, stylish, and well-stocked in a part of the island most tourists never see. Lots to explore in the area-- or just stay put and enjoy the house/beach/sea. Lounging on the veranda (reading, napping) or playing on the sand (building castles, hunting for shells), working on a tan or swimming and snorkeling in the water (there's a small reef just offshore that rises up at low tide!). Pick up a few groceries and a bottle of local rum and you're all set!´

Summary: This was a beautiful condo on a lovely stretch of beach. The condo had everything one needed for a perfect vacation while never having to leave. The area is far from the hustle and bustle of Nassau, which is what made it so perfect. Renting a car is a must if you want to travel to other areas of the island. We did go into Nassau, Paradise Island, and many beaches, and were aways happy to go back to Adelaide Village and its serenity. Our neighbor in the adjacent condo was so lovely and friendly, bringing us fresh fruit and fish. Any questions we had were immediately answered by the staff and they were great in giving us directions. If you are looking for a peaceful vacation away from it all, with stunning turquoise waters out your back door, this is the place for you.

Summary: I planned a quick 3 night stay at the pomelo north unit in Jan 2018 to celebrate my husbands birthday. The apartment was well appointed and updated. We enjoyed cooking breakfast in the updated kitchen and eating outside on the porch over looking the water. The washer and dry in unit was very convenient. We didn’t have great weather but enjoyed walking on the beach and watching the lightning from the porch. Netflix was a nice touch since we had rain. We were lucky to enjoy a few hours of sun and walking on the beach. All in all a nice quiet stay, you won’t be disappointed.

Summary: The.View. You can't go wrong with sitting on a patio overlooking the ocean with coffee. There's direct access to Adelaide Beach right from the gate in the backyard. We basically has the entire beach to ourselves. I'll never forget it - snorkeling, tanning, bouncing water balls - it was the perfect place to relax. If you're looking to be near the hustle and bustle: this isn't for you. This place is meant to be far from everything - authentic - truly Bahamian and it's amazing. There's a plaza in Coral Harbour (6 minute drive) that has a grocery store (Phoenix), a Domino's (in case you get stuck), and a 700 Wines store (among others). Perfect if you don't want to go too far for amenities. Communication was great, super fast. Brigitte was very helpful and welcoming and we were even befriended by the neighbour, who is such a lovely lady - the best hospitality. Thanks so much!
