When you arrive at the cottage, you will immediately be impressed by the peaceful beauty of the property. The rustic charm of our country cottage has all the luxuries of easy living but will take you back to a simpler time with its unique setting. Extra care and effort goes into making sure the house is fresh and CLEAN for your arrival. We are confident that every detail is considered for your enjoyment and comfort throughout your stay.
The pond is right outside the kitchen where a 40 foot deck leads to the dock. You will wake up to the birds singing and fall asleep to the soft sounds of a flowing stream that is directly behind the house. You may want to eat all your meals outdoors on the deck while you are fishing, reading a book, sunbathing or just admiring the views. There is a gas grill available for outdoor cooking as well as a bar with two stools that look over the stream. A built in sound system lets you listen to music throughout the house including outdoor speakers. You will love the sight and sounds of over one hundred feet of a flowing stream surrounded by plants and flowers scattered with rustic decor immediately behind the cottage.
The cottage is landscaped with over 30 evergreen trees. There are no other houses in sight as you can watch the sun set over the open mountain view in the backyard. The village of Andes, NY is only a few minutes away and is packed with specialty shops, museum, galleries, antique dealers, restaurants, and a general store. Enjoy live bands and comedy shows at the Andes Hotel or have a quiet dinner or a pizza at one of the other dining options in town. The town of Andes has a free community swimming pool that is open all summer. There is also a beach and large swimming lake at the nearby Belleayre Beach.
The 3 bedroom home sleeps 6 including use of a futon in the study that opens to a full bed. There is a surround sound TV system that converts the living room into a surround sound theater. Cable TV includes Netflix and other movie channels. The kitchen has all the appliances you'll need, including a dishwasher, refrigerator, washer & dryer, microwave along with cookware, dishes and utensils. Summary: We really enjoyed being back for our second visit. From the location near Andes and other interesting towns to the beautiful tranquil setting, this cabin is worth coming back again and again.

Summary: We loved our stay. It was very peaceful and quiet. The pond was great for swimming, fishing and frog catching. And the creek was fun for splashing around. We enjoyed relaxing and reading on the dock and by the creek. We also enjoyed roasting marshmallows in the outdoor fire pit. The house was very clean and provided all the comforts of home. It was cool to stay in farm country and had front row seats when the farmer next door harvested hay. We also made friends with some dairy farmers nearby and got a private tour of the dairy during an afternoon milking.

Summary: My family takes an annual pilgrimage to Woodstock Brewery and this has been our best VRBO stay in Woodstock in the five years since we started visiting. The kids loved playing in the creek and feeding the fish in the pond. The grill was in great condition and the kitchen well stocked. We didn’t need the A/C but we’re glad to have the option.

Summary: Home was in perfect shape with everything you might need. Not overcrowded with a bunch of dust collectors which is often the case. Stereo and TV worked without a lot of fuss and there was also outdoor sound. My only fault is the low ceilings made it feel a little claustrophobic. The outdoor space, patio, pond abd landscaping were gorgeous without being overdone. It felt like we were in a Grant Wood landscape. All of the furniture was also in great shape.

Summary: This was the perfect spot for a relaxing girl's weekend. The house is so cute and homey! It was stocked with everything imaginable and the surrounding property is all things magical. So serene and perfect for hanging outside and listening to the babbling brook. We can't wait to visit again!

Summary: Upon our second visit to "Pond House", we both found this space just as safe and peaceful as we found it during our first visit. The house is in an area that is very private and well manicured. We love all of the flowers and the beautiful green lawn surrounding the house. As we enter the house, everything is clean and new, along with a well equipped kitchen. We were able to create our own meals and enjoy the meals either inside or outside on the deck overlooking a creek and pond. We found grocery stores close by in both Margaretville and Dehli, just a few miles away. The kitchen had pots, dishes, utensils, glassware, etc., everything needed to prepare a meal. Loved the tub/shower combination and lots of towels provided, that we could wash in the washer-dryer combo which was easy to work. If we ever had any problems, Jack, the owner would respond immediately and was very helpful. Jack and Barbara have also left a wide variety of books, CD's and DVD's that are easily played on the multiple TV's throughout the house. The sound system also played music throughout the house and outside areas. WiFi was also available to us. The most important aspect for us was knowing we had privacy as well as many places to explore outside the "Pond House." It has become one of our most favorite destinations to rest and unwind, a truly magical place.

Summary: My family or 4 and I (kids 6,14) had an incredible time staying at this house for 3 nights. We wish we booked more time because it was just what we needed. My children really enjoyed playing outside for hours and playing with the house’s selection or board and card games. It was nice to be out in the fresh, autumn air and really enjoy nature at its finest!

Summary: This home is awesome. The Gallo’s are professionals. Everything has a place and it is in its place. This cabin even has a dishwasher and washer/dryer. We’ve been on the road for two months and this is the only cabin we stayed in with those appliances. Very much appreciated. The Gallos must also be music aficionados. Built in speakers in the living room, kitchen and the yard. If you prefer, just turn off the music in the yard and you will hear the brook. Nice views of open land out the back of the yard. Speakers are run by nice stereo equipment with Bluetooth so you can listen to yiur own music or some if theirs. Place has great character with historic wood flooring in excellent condition. They even slant a bit as do most of the doors 😁. Traditional wood-framed screen doors like the cabins had when you were a kid. 3 nice sized bedrooms plus a 4th set up as a library with an extensive music collection (at least one CD was still unopened), video and books as well. Great gas powered stove in the living room with more than enough btu’s to do the job. Flat screen tv mounted on the wall between the built in speaker, sattalite or cable tv with great reception and channel selection and one of the coolest couches I have seen. Can easily fit 3, maybe 4, but it splits in half when reclining. For two people its like laying in bed. And comfortable too. Bathroom is small, but it has a full size jetted tub and shower unlike most of the others we have stayed in which are phone booth sized. I would trade the size of the bathroom for the convenience of a washer and dryer any day. Place is only about 1.5 miles from town, but it isn’t much of a town with, from what I could see, one restaurant and no real grocery store. We were only there 3 nights and I was working so cannot say anything about the area except the drive in and out have spectacular long views from the top of the mountain to the valleys below. Just beautiful!

Summary: My wife and I stayed at this property just as the fall foliage started to pop. The location is awesome and the house is exactly as the pictures/verbiage describe. Jack was amazingly responsive and the check-in/check-out process was easy. The home was well appointed and the location to downtown Andes was perfect. I would absolutely recommend this location for anyone looking to take a breath of fresh air and enjoy a peaceful weekend in the Catskills!
