Nestled high on the hill looking out over Pepacton reservoir, you'll find our treetop bungalow set in 5 acres of woodland and wildflower gardens. Travel just 2.5 hours from the George Washington bridge and leave the city far behind. Reconnect with fresh air, tranquility, and nature. This is true wilderness (but we still have super fast fiber optic internet!).
The 1,400 square foot Rainbow Ranch has two bedrooms (one king, one queen) and 1.5 bathrooms providing a spacious getaway for 4. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need to make a delicious meal out of the fresh organic produce and homemade delights you find at farm stands and farmer’s markets and there's a dishwasher to ease the clean up.
Walk through the dining room to the giant living room and warm yourself at the bluestone fireplace, flanked by octagonal windows. Step through the picture window to the sweeping sundeck – nearly the size of the house again. Recline and enjoy your morning coffee listening to the birds and looking out over the lake with the Catskill mountains reaching out beyond.
If you can tear yourself away from the view, there are awesome hikes (everywhere!), swimming holes (20 mins), fly fishing on Beaverkill (30 min), fishing/kayaking on Pepacton Reservoir (5 mins), swimming at little pond (20 min), skiing at Belleayre (25 mins) and Plattekill (30 mins), Belleayre Music Festival (15 mins), legendary fall colors (everywhere!), antiques, auctions, and crafts (everywhere!). Have a Tesla /EV vehicle and want to explore the area? We have a NEMA 14-50 outlet in the parking area, just bring your charging cable and adapter.
Don't feel like roasting marshmallows around our campfire or lying in the hammock under countless stars surrounded by fireflies or forest bathing with a cocktail on our rocking chairs in the woods? Head to Andes (15 min), an upstate NYC outpost, and get big city comforts with a village vibe. Summary: My daughter, 2 grandsons and I enjoyed this comfortable, clean house in the woods overlooking mountains and a lake. The boys said the house was "awesome". My daughter and I especially liked the comfy beds, nice pillows, and bed linens that smelled like fresh air! Everything was as described. We only wish it was warm enough to sit on the deck enjoying the beautiful view.

Summary: We enjoyed our 4-night stay at this property. We particularly loved the porch overlooking the lake, the chimney in the living room and the amount of natural sunlight that one gets in the living/dining room (there are windows and glass doors everywhere). The house is conveniently located close to Margaretville and relatively close to skiing, making it the perfect place for a ski trip or just a getaway from the city.

Summary: This home is just the perfect little getaway. The views are pretty great and with all the sliding glass doors you have that view inside or out on the huge deck. Its very private and quiet but close enough to restaurants and stores.

Summary: My husband and I spent a 4 days and 3 nights at this lovely home. We spent every morning and night relaxing on the deck. The view is amazing. As city folks, it is not often we get to see animals in their natural habitats. It was precious. The home is beautifully decorated and curated with a modern day mid-century vibe. Great vintage pieces. The bed was very comfortable. The house is super clean. The people in Margretville were very nice. We are planning to come back again. If we could 5+ stars we would.

Summary: Was the perfect stay to get away from NYC and into the woods. LOTS of great areas to hike. Note: no Verizon service within like 3 miles of the house (not an issue one bit, of course, and Wifi speed is great but just something to note)
