1 Bedroom Cottage in North Maleny

Possums is a purpose-built one-bed cottage nestled among the bamboo and Macadamia trees in a garden setting on a 5-acre property on a hillside and is ideal for a peaceful, tranquil get away. Rejuvenate on the large deck while soaking up the sounds of nature or relax in the hydrotherapy spa. The property is close to town, the golf course and Baroon Pocket Dam. Enjoy a delicious breakfast featuring locally sourced products before exploring the surrounding area. Let us be your home away from home!
The retreat provides a modern, clean and quiet living space in a garden setting. The front door opens into the open plan kitchen-dining-lounge area.
Double French doors on either side of the wood burning stove lead out to the large deck offering a panoramic view of the garden and Jacaranda and Macadamia trees.
The bedroom overlooks the garden through French windows and has a Queen bed, reverse-cycle air-conditioner, ceiling fan and an ensuite bathroom with bath and shower.
The hydrotherapy spa is on the fully enclosed and very private side deck and is for the exclusive use of the guests staying at Possums Retreat.
Enough wood for the cold winter nights is provided for the fireplace and there is also a reverse-cycle air-conditioner and ceiling fan in the living room.
An extra single bed with all bedding is available for use in the lounge area. There is an extra charge of $20.00 if this is required when only 2 guests are staying.
* We provide a delicious breakfast basket filled with local and home-made produce. From freshly baked bread, croissants and pastries to eggs from our chickens and fresh local seasonal fruit to milk and yoghurt from Maleny's award-winning dairy and cheese factory.
* If you require more wood, you are able to purchase from us, IGA, Woolworths and the Service Stations.
* Our property is semi-rural and is not on town water or sewerage. Our water comes from rainwater tanks, and we have a wastewater treatment plant. The house has its own tank, and the water is perfectly safe to drink.
* As we are semi-rural and part of a wildlife corridor, the property is not fenced. We also ask that dogs remain on lead at all times when on the grounds as we have an abundance of bird and wildlife on the property.
We allow a maximum of 2 pets (but can be flexible depending on size).
* There are pasture-fed free range chickens on the property

Summary: Everything is provided, even a well stocked breakfast basket with home-made bread. Spacious house with a large veranda and a very private area for the spa. Lots of interesting places to visit nearby and only a 5 minute drive from Maleny center. Hosts Linda and Antony are very friendly and helpful..... thank you for everything. We definitely can recommend the Possum Retreat.

Summary: just want to say a huge thank you to our hosts ,Linda & Antony.they made us feel so welcomed,lovely people to chat to ,they had the cottage spotless,spa was already to use ,we loved it.Every morning I would go out on the deck and watch the chickens ,the rooster & the tiny little chicks so very cute.This is a great location as a base.We went to so many places ea day .Absolutely loved it here.thank you once again Linda & Antony

Summary: We arrived to the smell (and very soon after, the taste) of freshly-baked bread. The hosts had thought of everything, and our cottage was beautifully appointed, comfortable, and warm, with robes, a spa, a modern kitchen, and both air conditioning and a fireplace. We shared the surrounds - about three minutes from Maleny township - with chickens, kookaburras and wallabies. It was an ideal place to stay for time out and a bit of luxury. We’ll be back.

Summary: Possums retreat is absolutely gorgeous! It's in a great location and close to everything you need. The fire place and the hydrotherapy spa was a massive win for us. Most importantly, the communication with the owners was exceptional. They even supplied a hamper with fresh fruit, danishes, crossiants and a freshly homemade loaf of bread which was super delicious. Amazing weekend away!! A massive thanks to the Owners Linda and Antony. We'll be back for sure.
