Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: OH MY! this place is a gem! built in the 17th century by his great Grandfather, Pietro Consiglio is still living on site and available at any time. Ask him to play the piano in the common area, or discuss the many books he has lying around the home. Visit the small chapel built by his Great Uncle the Archbishop of Brindisi, Puglia. There is so much to see at this lovely Tenuta that was originally a mill and olive farm. Our room was actually the original chapel of the mill. We could play half-court basketball in our main bedroom. The bathroom was also very large for an Italian apartment. We had a small kitchen which again was great for preparing our meals. A private patio was available to us as with all of the rooms. While we could have stayed around the apartment the three days, we stayed here we drove to Matera (about an hour} the third oldest inhabited city in the world over 10,000 years old. On another day we went to Trani (15-minute drive) a coastal town with which also has a historical significance, beautiful garden right on the water next to its fortress and many wonderful churches. The Knights of Templar hostel for pilgrims to gather before leaving by water for the holy land. All of this and a fantastic apartment on top! We even were able to buy some of Pietro's olive oil grown and processed on site!

Negative: There really wasn't anything negative, we loved this place and will return.

Summary: A Pleasant Suprise and unmistakable good luck brought us to this historical place.
