Summary: La Petite Demeure is in a beautiful, tranquil location, is extremely well presented and equipped and offers plenty of outside space. The owners were there to greet us and to give us a tour of the property, on arrival, and communication beforehand and during our stay was excellent. The beds were made, towels were provided and the house was spotless. There were pantry items and toiletries too. Close to hand, Blangy le Chateau has a boulangerie and epicerie, whilst there are supermarkets in Cormeilles and Pont l' Eveque for stocking up on supplies. There are many pretty villages nearby and the house's location provides an ideal base for visiting the beaches along this coastline and the Bayeux tapestry. (There is a supply of leaflets in the house showing the many possible days out). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Summary: We spent a week of our vacation here, the house is wonderful and very lovingly furnished. As described, the property is very spacious and we were able to enjoy the peace and quiet at breakfast or while relaxing on the beautiful loungers. Thank you Laurence for the warm welcome and for the good time we were able to spend here. We can only warmly recommend the area, the house and the open-minded people here.

Summary: This home is absolutely delightful. After several weeks of traveling and staying in hotels, the quiet private grounds surrounding this peaceful home were a joy and relief. The home is very comfortable and clean. The bedrooms have roof windows on either side which allow for a cool breeze at night. The bathrooms have all necessary amenities. The washing machine was handy after a few weeks of travel. The kitchen was well supplied to prepare meals. We greatly enjoyed the bakery and patisserie in the village, and there is a good grocery store nearby in Lisieux for all cooking needs if you choose to eat in. The outdoor table and chairs provided pleasant lounging and dining in the summer evening air. Laurence and Oliver were terrific and easy to contact if needed. Their house is on the property but hidden behind a stand of large trees and bushes, so everyone enjoys their privacy. The property also has a security gate, so the place feels very safe and secure. The location is a good home base if you want to explore multiple parts of Normandy and don't mind driving, but I would be content to stay put and just lay around reading a good book for a few days. This is definitely a great get away from a hot city summer and a nice place to come home to after being elbow-to-elbow with Normandy tourists at the busier spots.

Summary: The cottage is wonderful, very well equipped (sharp knives!) and spacious. Plenty of room for a family of four. Olivier and Laurence are lovely hosts, and pointed out some very tasty restaurants, and directed us to the nearby town of Cormeilles, which is definitely worth a visit, especially the deli! The location is perfect for exploring Normandy and is close to the beach (and the seafood!), with plenty of attractions close at Hand. Liseaux is a 10 minute drive away and has a large supermarket, but there are plenty of local markets which are well worth a visit. Although the owners are onsite, the gite is private and we could come and go as we pleased. The village is a 10--15 minute walk away, and has a lovely boulanger and a small shop. We had a lovely time there and would certainly visit again. R&L&J&J

Summary: We had the perfect week in Blangy-le-Château. Laurence was great to communicate with, very quick with responses to questions and excellent directions. Firstly, the house is beautifully decorated, it was a pleasure to come back to at the end of the day. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and there was always plenty of hot water. The garden is amazing, you are surrounded by green space. Having dinner out on the patio was lovely, you feel as though you are in your own private park! There are lots of good restaurants in Cormeilles, which is only a short drive away. We followed Laurence’s recommendations and had two delicious and reasonable meals out there. There is also a large supermarket and some delicious boulangeries. The property is well placed for day trips. We went to Bayeux and saw the tapestry; Deauville, which has a lovely big beach and town, Honfleur, which is beautiful and also has a shopping outlet, and the D-Day beaches. My daughter loved the amusement park, Festyland, which has lots of good rides for all ages and was deserted when we visited. All in all, we had a great week. I would strongly recommend this property and the area and we hope to return soon.

Summary: My wife and I stayed at the house for a week and had a wonderful, quiet and relaxing time. The house itself is immaculately kept. Even though it's small, the kitchen had more mod cons than we could use and the house had everything needed for our stay. It's a high deposit on the property, which reflects its high quality furnishings. If we'd had young children or a pet bull with us I'd have been nervous, but with just the two of us it made it feel comfortable and sophisticated. We initially had some difficulties with the satellite Internet, but after contacting the owners, they were able to deal with it swiftly and courteously. Afterwards we had excellent connectivity, so I consider this to be a plus point. The surrounding area isn't a busy hub of tourist attractions, but for a quiet rural stay it's absolutely perfect. We had a wonderful time and totally recommend it.

Summary: My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our weeks stay at this delightful property. It's immaculately clean and set in wonderful private grounds. It is walking distance from the village centre with a superb Patisserie. We travelled all over Normandy from here, including the great city of Deauville, Caen, Honfleur, D-Day museum and beaches, the local zoo plus lots more. The house has a double bedroom, twin bedroom, upstairs bathroom and toilet, downstairs toilet, dishwasher, washing machine, coffee machine, microwave, large lounge, newly fitted kitchen, satellite wifi and French TV, seating patio area, plus acres of well kept private lawns which my young son enjoyed playing football on. The house is very tidy and newly refurbished, it's an incredibly peaceful place, the only thing I could hear was insects ! The owners house is within the same area but hidden by trees and quite far away, so complete privacy. There is also a remote controlled electric gate which you get a key fob for leading to a long gravel driveway. The lounge windows open fully, as do the patio doors. The upstairs bedrooms have roof windows for cooling down the rooms. The lady we met was very pleasant and our deposit was returned no problem at the end of our stay. I would highly recommend this house, we will be returning as soon as possible. Thank you to the owners.

Summary: A fantastic property, well equipped, very comfortable, very quiet, in a good location to explore this part of Normandy. Not to forget the great owners!! Language not a problem at all as thankfully, Laurence and Olivier's English is perfect unlike our dreadful French! We travelled as a family of 3 - 2 adults and one teenager. House was more than comfortable for us, and would easily take another with ease. We settled here as a base to explore the surrounding area. 1 hour to Bayeux and the tapestry followed by a leisurely drove back up the coast road and stopping off at the D-Day beach landing sites. Deauville and Trouville around 20 mins away, as is the must see Honfleur. Caen and William the Conqueror sites around 40 mins. Le Havre less than that with a great drive over the Pont de Normandie. Rouen around an hour away also - another wonderful city. Would highly recommend this property to anyone. Merci bcp Laurence et Olivier pour votre maison et pour votre hospitalité. Aussi pour la leçon française!
