Summary: Beautiful setting with great pool, amazing scenery and fun country roads to explore. However, the owners are small-town folk who are clearly not accustomed to foreigners staying at their farmhouse. It was evident that they were a bit upset and doing us a favor when they received us at 7:30pm due to a delayed flight into Paris and a long drive to the Domaine; they asked if we had brought our own towels and made a fuss about having to retrieve one each for six of us (I explained to her that foreigners typically do not travel 10,000 miles with a suitcase full of towels and sheets), and she would not accept US $$ for the additional on-site deposit until we could get to a bank/ATM, insisting it had to be Euros only. The following day, we got into a massive argument when I asked if they would consider a small discount on the price given they had dropped the published website rate of the house by 35% between when I signed the contract (and prepaid half of the weekly rate) 6-mths prior and our arrival date. All she could say in French was, “The contract is the contract!” All of this made for a less than pleasant initial interaction with the owners, but the locale itself was picturesque and we ended up thoroughly enjoying our trips to Tortoirac, Perigueux, Lascaux & Montignac (stop by Saint Leon sur Vezere - beautiful), Les Eyzies de Tayac and Sarlat La Caneda.

Summary: Les gîtes sont très bien équipés, réalisés avec beaucoup de soin et de très bon goût. Situés dans une belle nature, ils sont propices au repos, aux promenades champêtres, aux réunions amicales et au farniente. L'accueil est chaleureux, souriant et efficace. Summary: L'hébergement est de grande qualité. Les hôtes sont très accueillants, disponibles et discrets. Et il y a beaucoup d'activités dans les environs. Toute la famille est réunie, mais en étant chacun chez soi. La salle et cuisine communes sont très pratiques pour les repas en communs.

Summary: Parfait, état de la maison impeccable, les pièces sont de bonnes proportions et très bien agencées. La piscine est extrêmement bien traitée et de taille permettant à tous de bien s'amuser, hôtes charmants et à l'écoute. La literie est sans défaut (important !). Le jardin est très agréable, le lieu de loisirs pour les enfants (balançoire, ping pong) a été très apprécié.

Summary: Ce gite (en réalité les 3 gites et la salle commune) est tout simplement remarquable, d'abord par l'excellent accueil des propriétaires qui résident sur place, et ensuite par les équipements et ustensiles de qualité. Il n'y a pas de surprise, rien ne manque, les logements sont parfaits, tout est réuni pour passer un excellent séjour, ce qui fût notre cas. De plus, l'endroit est très calme et très bien situé dans cette belle région périgourdine puisque les randonnées y sont nombreuses,les visites de châteaux, grottes, abbayes, ... sont à distance très raisonnable, avec pour couronner le tout,l'excellence des produits régionaux. Si vous cherchez un gite, n'hésitez pas, vous ne serez pas déçu, vous pouvez louer les yeux fermés, c'est certainement ce qui se fait le mieux en matière de gite. Nous féliciterons également le traiteur que nous avons sollicité lors de notre séjour : M. A D. à St JORY de Chalais. Avec lui non plus pas de surprise.
