Riverfront living awaits you at “The Au Train River Cabin”. Waterfront retreat with breathtaking view with private dock. This is a comfortable 2 bedroom cabin on the AuTrain River near the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and Grand Island in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Located only 10 miles west of Munising in Alger County. Nestled on a small hillside overlooking the river, the perfect spot for relaxing and enjoying the north woods.

Master Bedroom Upstairs : Queen Bed| Bedroom Two downstairs : 2 Twin Beds and an additional Twin/Full Futon Bunk Beds
* There could also be additional space in the living room to sleep two.
Bathroom with shower are inside the cabin upstairs. Towels and linens are provided.
The kitchen has full-sized appliances, a microwave, coffee maker, dishes, and cooking utensils. The family room has a flat screen TV with a dvd, fire stick and easy access to large deck overlooking the river. Lower Deck is complete with grill, picnic table, and deck chairs for enjoying the beauty of the river and the Hiawatha National Forest. Walk down to the dock, where you can spend your days fishing and nights around the fire pit.

Summary: Need to fix the door on the bathroom. Previous guests appear to have broken the frame where the door intersects. Door shuts but does not ultimately close. While this didn't get in our way, could be a problem with future guests. The Wi-Fi is spotty and unreliable. Substantial use is a problem. We got around it by working in Munising. This could be a problem for future guests.

Summary: So weird how the cabin was set up , kitchen in the basement with bed rooms and bathroom upstairs , but it was a quiet place on the beautiful river

Summary: We stayed in this cute cabin during our visit to Northern Michigan Univ. for Family Weekend. Our son is a freshman at NMU, and this cabin was close enough to campus for us to enjoy the events on campus. We also wanted to explore Pictured Rocks and this cabin was a great location for those adventures as well.

Summary: As senior citizen’s the walk down to the dock is a little precarious. Nice quaint cottage that could be updated and improved but we loved the fire pit!
