A picturesque private house lies along the border of Shenandoah National Park. Near old rag trail and other great trails such as white oak canyon trail, cedar run trail and rose river fire road trail. A perfect serene getaway, where you can relax and unwind, while you are surrounded by beautiful views of the mountain, streams, and nature. The house has 2 ponds, private streams, and about 30 acres of private land for trail, and hiking. The house is supplied by spring water which not only tastes great but also feels great to shower in. Sit back and relax in our new hot tub and light up the outdoor fire pit. Firewood and firestarter are provided for your convenient. Enjoy your morning sipping a cup of coffee outside on our patio. Enjoy your day relaxing by the stream or pond. We have a badminton/volleyball net setup in the backyard. Badminton rackets, volleyballs, and birdies are provided for your entertainment. Inside, you can enjoy our sunroom by sitting near the wood stove, watching movies, or playing foosball. Cook your food in our fully stocked kitchen and enjoy a good night sleep in our comfortable beds. There are multiple beds that can accomodate a large family. Room size is large with own bathroom that will not make you feel cramped. There is no high speed internet in the area and also no cell signal as well, which is a charm of living in the mountain. There is satellite internet provided that can allow you to surf the web and check email. You can use wifi calling/ texting. However, it can not handle multiple users streaming large bandwith at the same time and speed can fluctuate. We recommend not to stream movies with the internet but to watch our direct tv cable tv on our large tv. 100 dvds is also available for your viewing.

Summary: We had a wonderful time at this lovely place! The house was very clean, beds very comfortable and the house outfitted with pretty much everything we needed, even enough coffee pods for our group for a 3 night stay and the owner was very responsive! Wifi was actually better than we expected. Close to wineries, brewery, and lovely hiking trails. Only suggestion would be to add a few wine glasses and a wine opener since we visited a couple wineries one day. We luckily had brought our own, but there were none. Great place to relax and recharge with friends and family! Would definitely stay here again!

Summary: The house is very well stocked and appointed. All of the rooms are large. The beds were comfy, the linens nice. The property was easy to find and very clean. We loved the fire pit and enjoyed a fire each night. We would have liked to have enjoyed the hot tub but the cameras pointed at it creeped us all out. I have never stayed at a property that had cameras, let alone so many. The only one I saw inside was when you entered the house, but there a ton outside. Otherwise the property was better than the photos or description.

Summary: The house was big, open, beautiful, comfortable, all the amenities, good water, comfortable beds and couches. Lots of yard space and places to hang out that sadly we could not enjoy due to weather. Everything worked. The only thing that we missed was a guide to the house- the alarm, which the owner must have switched off remotely somehow, was startling and a heads up would have been good, the remotes took a while to figure out, we weren't sure exactly what cleaning expectations were when we left. Other than that, great place and would stay there again happily.

Summary: This property was better than a 5-star place. It was super clean, plenty of room for the family, comfortable beds and exceptionally soft linens. The kids loved the huge yard and the ponds (complete with frogs), as well as the chiminea for making s’mores. It was a wonderful and relaxing long weekend. Thank you for sharing your place with us.

Summary: The online pictures of this house, don’t do it justice. It is beautiful! Huge bedrooms, tons of towels, shower products, etc. If you want to be way off the beaten path, stay here.

Summary: My family wanted a beautiful, peaceful, private vacation and we got it in spades. The house is beautiful, and the setting is amazing. Beds are really comfortable, and the kitchen very well stocked. We enjoyed the large collection of movies, and spent time doing hikes in the Shenandoah National Park during the day. The house has heaps of room, and the owner was very responsive. Would highly recommend this house. We use VRBO a lot, and this was one of our favorites.

Summary: This property is from a Home and Garden Magazine. It was so beautiful. The pictures online don’t really do it justice. We usually stay somewhere with a Mountain View, but we didn’t miss that one bit. The home itself was very impressive, spacious, and lovely. Had excellent communication with the owner who quickly responded to any questions we had. This place is a winner.

Summary: What an amazing property to get away from it all. The house is huge and has ample space from the dining room table to the bed and bathrooms. Loved the coffee bar. Foosball was a hit. The family relaxed around the fire pit and watched fireflies and also soaked in the hot tub every night. The hammock was ultimate relaxation. Lots of room to relax and enjoy the family. Not a bad drive to Luray Caverns and the skyline. We also took a drive to Harpers Ferry for some tubing down the river. Spend a day in Culpepper checking out the shops and lunch. Short drive but make sure you have all your directions planned out before you arrive. You will lose service before you get to the house and it is extremely limited in the surrounding areas. They just installed Dish Tv which was great. Wifi was pretty much non existent which didn’t bother us but just to warn you, they have it but it doesn’t work well. We went to go on the trails in the property but they were a bit overgrown to try them in shorts. If it was cooler weather for jeans we would have been out there. We hope to come back in the future. A great trip and home.

Summary: A beautiful, spacious house. The house is very tidy and the kitchen and bathrooms are well stocked. The spacious yard surrounded by woods and nearby creek, make it a wonderful place to get away and recharge. Highly recommended. I will stay here again.

Summary: Everything about this house was perfect! Very clean, gorgeous views, and awesome location (the hot tub is a great perk too). Extremely well stocked with everything you could need. However, one very important note - there is no service in the area and the email with the information of how to enter the house will not load, so make sure you take screenshots of the email in advance (we had to drive to a nearby inn for wifi in order to get the email to load). But it was really a perfect house in every way!
