Summary: Our drive-up reaction was a bit surprising with the overall look of the front yard might be described as tropical rustic, with palms everywhere and a somewhat unkept look from the front drive. However, once inside we found the rental to be spacious, colorful, and welcoming with plenty of seating area in the living room and dining room, an updated kitchen, and a unique wraparound floorplan with picture window views of the patio/courtyard and pool that worked well for our large family of 8. The combination of ceiling fans in all rooms and adequate A/C worked well to keep up comfortable in the St. Simon's heat and humidity. Basketball game in the 2nd master kept the kids busy - especially in the morning. The courtyard and pool were welcoming and was well used by all. The pool's walk-in ramp was appreciated by the older two of our group. However, the lawn and overall landscaping look was a bit overgrown and needed to be mowed and thinned out. Also, the sides and roofs of the buildings needed to be pressure washed to remove mildew and give the overall look a pop. Additional new pool furniture would be nice, though we brought some of our own chairs to supplement. The wooden swing set was enjoyed. The jacuzzi was also used enjoyably several times. TV and Internet connectivity was good, and communication with the owners was excellent.

Summary: Our group of 10 was well accommodated with large bedrooms, plenty of bathrooms, well furnished kitchen and living areas and a bunkroom that was great for the kids. The courtyard was a great space for relaxing in the shade, playing cornhole, grilling and drying off after hanging out in the pool. The house was spacious enough that, even with a larger group, everyone was able to relax in their own space after a long day in the sun.
