COVID-19 Advice. All of our pillows, pillow protectors, sheets, duvets, mattress protectors, pool and house towels are washed at 95ºC with bleach and changed for each client as per Spanish government guidelines.
A Beautifully decorated and well-presented Environmentally Friendly Villa accommodating 8 people. Casa Cal Domino is situated at the coastal side of the Gavarres national park, a 38,000 Ha National Park located between the Costa Brava and the Roman city of Girona. Cal Domino has panoramic views of the 11th Century Castle in the Medieval Village of Calonge and the Mediterranean coastline.
We have one bedroom with air conditioning and two bedrooms with modern ceiling fans and our elevated position takes advantage of the lovely sea breezes.
Why book with us ? For our summer clients, we use 100% green energy. Our large PV solar array collects excess energy all though the year and stores it in a "Virtual Battery" for later use. Domestic hot water is supplied primarily by two large solar water heaters and topped up when necessary by solar energy. Our pool filtration system is 100% solar powered and in collaboration with Calonge Council all rubbish is collected at the villa and re-cycled. Also, our welcome pack is outstanding and we have an 80%+ return rate ! Our regular clients that have been coming to us since 2007 treat Cal Domino as a home away from home and we don't use a local agency to look after our guests. The cleaning, laundry and welcome is handled and guaranteed personally by us. If there is any problem that we have overlooked, it will be dealt with straight away and the happiness and wellbeing of our clients is our top priority. We provide a 24 hr concierge service for restaurant / Taxi bookings and advice whilst you are here on holiday.....
The Villa is located at the heart of the Costa Brava region and is perfectly situated for Beach, Hiking, Biking and Golfing self-catering holidays. The Villa has four double bedrooms, 3 bathrooms (one en-suite), Jacuzzi bath, sauna, large house bathroom with his and her's sinks, an exterior spa hot tub and an 8x4 heated infinity pool. For the winter months, we have a log burner, natural gas central heating and double glazing throughout. For the summer months, the Villa has been designed to be cool with fresh sea breezes and the upper bedroom has air conditioning. All the windows have mosquito screens. The modern kitchen has solid oak cupboards with granite worktops, dishwasher, electric oven, 5 ring gas hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, washing machine, solid oak dining table (seats 8), kitchen terrace with BBQ and table (seats 8). Two lounges, one with private terrace and the other with large picture windows with views to the sea. The tropical hardwood pool deck has 6 Sun loungers and panoramic sea views.
The Villa has roadside CCTV video entry surveillance, a large safe for your laptops and personal electrical items and modern monitored alarm system. The Villa also has WIFI throughout and all free to view satellite TV and radio channels.
Skiing: From December to March skiing from just 2 hours by car.
Golf: Half a dozen championship golf courses within 30 mins of the Villa including Spain's No.1 Golf course, the Catalunya PGA.
Walking: This is hiking country. The Villa is on the doorstep to the Gavarres hills, a protected forest with hiking trails directly from the front door and the best coastal walks on the Costa Brava.
Biking: Hundreds of kilometers of well-marked mountain bike routes from the flat plains of Baix Empordá to the Pyrenees for all levels. The Gavarres national park can be accessed directly from the front door.
Road Biking: Excellent roads throughout the region for road biking during the winter months and this area is home to over a dozen professional teams. The Costa Brava is a very popular destination for serious bikers wanting to do some winter training. We have a secure roadside garage for MB's, road bikes and your golfing equipment.

Summary: Wonderful stay in casa cal domino were we had really everything to enjoy our holiday. (And we are used yo a lot). We had the best reception ever from the owner nigel with also a big welcome’s pack in the refrigerator . So hospitality 11 at 10 for example we hired electric bikes and 30 minutes later there was electric gor charging them in the garage. We looked for a dog beach and few time later he phoned town council and send us the places. Thx a lot nigel for making our holiday even more beautiful.

Summary: It is difficult to say what we prefer. Everything is nice in the villa Cal Domino. All the rooms are as practical as luxurious. The house is very big and have a real charm. The kitchen is functional. And the terrace with the little lanterns is like a studio decor because is so perfect. The swimming pool and the hot tube are excellent. From each room, you can have an incredible view of the green valley, the urbanization and the sea in the back ground. The value of Nigel’s welcome is “ten stars”, very nice and attentive. Our arrival was well prepared. The fridge was with beverages for everybody, local food and a very big fruit basket was on the table. Thank you Nigel. Don’t change anything! If you come in Calonge, try to stay in the villa Cal Domino. We totally recommend.

Summary: Had a brilliant week here in April 2019. Villa was lovely. Plenty of space for our family of 4, plus Granny. Pool and jacuzzi were both used, even at this time of year. Nigel was the most welcoming host I have ever met, in some 30+ villa stays in my life. Having landed in the evening, we were so grateful for a welcome pack that fed us all, Saturday evening, Sunday breakfast and beyond. Cold beer and chilled wine was a delightful way to start our holiday week. The villa provided a great base for the week to explore the Costa's amazing coast line, as well as medieval villages and the charm that is historic Girona. (Despite the natural beauty on offer, my teenage daughters still managed to convince me to take them to the very plush outlet shopping village about an hour south of here !!). The home is very comfortable, modern, with all the trimmings. Kitchen was fabulous, no need to buy all the odds and ends needed for cooking. Pool and jacuzzi were lovely, secluded, with amazing views. Thoroughly recommend this home if you're ever in this part of Spain. Nigel, thank you so much for your hospitality.
