The cottage is a separate private guest house adjacent to the main house on the property. It is fully furnished for a fun, coastal and quiet getaway. Please note the bathroom is detached from the house, there is a lovely stone walk way that takes you to the bathroom, and the only shower is an outdoor shower.
It's in a great neighborhood and area to run, walk or bike to the salt ponds and ocean. Kayaking, Paddle boarding, Fishing, Restaurants, a Bakery and Ice Cream are right down the road! Easy drive to Newport, Casinos, Wineries, Mystic Seaport & Aquarium.

Summary: We stayed here for a week. The place was well appointed and had everything we needed. The owners were so nice and accommodating.

Summary: I arrived at 2 in the morning and it was pitch black outside. The directions on how to find the door were impossible. The front door is across a yard and behind a line of bushes. The next day the woman in the front house told us we couldn’t use the driveway to walk on because it was private property. It was a hassle to walk through the yard ti get in and out - especially considering the grass wasn’t mowed while we were there. Although the listing says 2 bedrooms 2 bathrooms - there is actually not a real bathroom. There is a toilet in an outhouse and an outdoor shower. There’s a tree growing into the bathroom door and it’s a little hard to close without a branch. The kitchen sink doubles as a bathroom sink which I thought was kind of gross. We did not enjoy going outside in the middle of the night to pee. The fridge has rust all over the outside but the inside works fine. There is mold on the kitchen ceiling and the living room has a moldy leak where the paint is falling off. I hate doing dishes at my own house so the lack of a dishwasher was bad for me. All in all I simply wasn’t prepared to rough it. The place is tiny and besides the mold it was clean. It wasn’t all bad; we liked the towels and the board games in the cupboard.

Summary: This is a true cottage experience, everything is small but just right! There were three of us AND a wheelchair and we fit fine. The AC kept the house comfie from the steamy heat outside and the location is convenient for beaches, food and cycling. Hosts were friendly, responsive and helpful. This is a Charlestown gem!

Summary: Very comfortable and cozy! Our 4 year old loved the outdoor restroom & we cooked several meals in the small but functional kitchen. Less than 5min away from restaurants/ice cream, and a private beach lot that makes it super convenient to just walk right on the beach. Would definitely recommend.
