Positive: We loved the hospitality of Hans and Tamara. They are wonderful hosts and they have spent a lot of time, money, and effort to make this the best Bed and Breakfast we have ever stayed! The breakfast buffet was out of this world with homemade bread baked by Hans, and amazing variations of dips, salads, and cheeses. We felt so stuffed after breakfast, we typically skipped lunch and opted for a light snack. We really enjoyed the perfect location of the establishment. It's right off the canal, but also quiet and away from the hustle & bustle of tourists. The building is very old, but it was entirely renovated last year, so everything is brand new -- including an elevator! We truly enjoyed our time here and plan to stay here again when we visit in the future.

Positive: I’ve stayed in many places but Quay17 is my favourite. The building, the decor, the location and the owners Hans & Tamara are so lovely. Also 10/10 for the breakfast. Everything is so well thought out, kudos to them! We definitely look forward to staying again.
Negative: It was all fantastic.

Positive: This is a beautiful property with a rich history provided by the proprietors. They include personal touches, like making their own historically accurate beer, the view of the canal is incredible, and the breakfast was perfect. I especially loved the local farm cheeses, honeycomb, and homemade chicken curry salad.
Negative: The only thing to detract from my stay was being scolded by one of the proprietors for eating in my room, and then subsequently being treated somewhat like a child. If there are specific ideas and rules for room behaviors, it would be nice to have them explicitly posted somewhere in the room. I did not appreciate being treated this way, especially when doing my best to be a respectful guest, and paying upwards of $300/night.
Summary: Lovely establishment, delicious breakfast, beautiful views. Just expect certain restrictions.

Positive: Location was great. We loved the history of the building and Hans and Tamara were really friendly and helpful - we were only there for a day and a half so didn't get to spend as much time in the room as I would've hoped as it was so nice! This was a weekend away for my husband's 40th and the first after having our little boy so I wanted it to be special and luxurious. Breakfast was just right - everything thought of and if we ever get the opportunity to come back to Bruges I wouldn't hesitate to book Quay17 again as I really doubt there's any place better!

I have rarely found a place like Quai17 in my journeys where I wanted to stay longer; the time was not enough. It's luxurious, it's thought out to the smallest detail, it's cozy, it has an excellent breakfast, and I have no more words to express my gratitude.
